DIY: Front tie T-shirt
Hello Lovelies!!!
It's February, the year is already going by so fast! But yes today's post is a little different it's a DIY post. I'm trying them out, please let me know what you think, I love to hear your feedback. So this DIY is to make a front tie shirt out of a t-shirt because I'm not a big t-shirt person so this is a little way to make it fit my personality more.

Curves Around the World: Halloween Edition
Happy Halloween!
Hey lovelies, I hope your having a wonderful day. So "Curves Around the World" is back and today were giving you our Halloween style for this year. So Halloween happens to be my Birthday, so I pretty much always dress up. So this year I didn't know where I was going but I decided to put this costume together anyways. I like DIYing costumes because costume's are so expensive and can be so generic. So I went on pinterest and searched there DIY costumes and came across an Owl costume.

Curves Around the World: DIY
Hello Hello Hello!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic 2014 so far! I'm happy to be back blogging, I took a mini break from things just to enjoy the holiday's with my family and friends. But I missed blogging and checking out everyone's blogs, it's going to take me awhile to catch up on all the blogs I follow. But I'm really looking forward to this upcoming year of blogging, I'm hoping to start posting more and about different things as well!
So of coarse my first post of the year is "Curves Around the World" post and I'm excited for the upcoming themes that we've come up with. But this weeks theme is "DIY or Do it Yourself" and let me tell you for someone like me who doesn't have much money to buy a lot of things, it's great to DIY things to spruce up your wardrobe.
So for my DIY for this post is my crocheted hat, I learned how to crochet my first year of college and I used to crochet non-stop when I learned. But recently I haven't had the time and the patience to crochet. But I do miss doing it and I might just start doing it again. I first started crocheting scarfs and then I learned to crochet a beret type hat and let me tell you I have quite a few and in so many colors but then I started giving them away as gifts to friends that now I don't have too many to be honest. Maybe that's a sign I should start doing it again.

|What I'm Wearing|
| Sweater : Target | Top : Old Navy | Skirt | Forever 21+ |
| Tights : Old Navy| Boots : Ross |
So if you follow my on Instagram you might have seen this sweatshirt, it's from the Phillip Lim collaboration with Target. The day this collaboration came out it was crazy, I went to target I think at 8:10 and people had multiple bags in hand. I really wanted a bag so I thought maybe I could go to another Target and find some, I ended up going to 5 different targets and not finding any of the bags. But I did have my eye on this sweater so I was happy I was able to find this in an XL and I was happy it actually fit too. But yeah on a side note after a few months my friend surprised me and was able to get me one of the small bags. Which I have to do an outfit with in the future. :)
What do you think of DIY? What are things you like to DIY? I would love to hear some of the things you DIY because I would love to try new things.

Curves Around the World: Celebrity Inspired
Hello everyone, it's that time again for another "Curves Around the World" theme challenge. This weeks theme was a little challenging for me but I did the best that I can. This weeks theme is a Celebrity inspired look and I admire a lot of different celebrities for there style, so it was hard to pick just one and then to come up with a look was another thing.
The celebrity that I chose was Mila Kunis because I really like her style. Her red carpet looks are so elegant and so stylish, there isn't a look that I don't like of hers. The pictures below are some of my favorite looks of hers. But of coarse there are so many more looks of hers that I love as well.
I like her street style as well, she dresses comfortably but it's still stylish.
Instead of creating a look that is inspired by her style, I took it more literally and tried to recreate the look below. This look is what she wore to the MTV music awards in 2011. I chose this look because I know that I have similar pieces in my wardrobe so that I would be able to pull the look off.
And here is my look! I took a simple black long sleeve shirt from Old Navy and rolled the sleeves up to the length of how her shirt is. I even tried to make it go longer to one side but it didn't really work. I wanted to straighten my hair but I didn't have a straighter but I tried to copy her hair.
As for the skirt, it's a DIY that I did a few years back and I've only worn it once. So I took this challenge as a way to wear it again. I made this skirt because I really liked a Balmain skirt and I saw a great tutorial (here) that had great instructions to recreate the look. You can click the link to see the tutorial yourself, it's really easy.
Oh I should also Mention that I met Mila Kunis a really long time ago when she was on that 70's show. I actually met her at an NSYNC concert, and when people see this picture they say it looks like we were actually friends because we were dressed pretty identical. She was so nice when I took this picture and she wasn't wearing any makeup but she was still really pretty.
How do you think I did with the challenge? If you had this challenge who would you choose as your inspiration?
Now don't forget to check out the other lovely ladies from "Curves Around the World!" We have a new member joining the group and her name is Bine and she's from Germany, Welcome to our little group! :)

From old to new
Hey everyone, how is everyone doing? If you live in California you know that right now there's a heat wave going on and man do I hate it. I like warm weather but this 100 degree weather is too much for me. So if your in California, I hope your staying cool in this heat wave.
So last week we had the challenge to wear stripes and like I said in that post I've always been hesitant to wear them. I mean I've always liked the trend but it wasn't something I was comfortable in wearing until last week and with all the positive feedback everyone gave me I decided to try it again. This is another stripped shirt that I had in my closet that has never been worn because of my phobia with stripes. And I have to say I'm really liking stripes right now, I never thought I would ever say that.
{top & vest|Old Navy} {skirt|Target} {shoes|Philippines} {necklace|DIY}
So both the vest and the skirt are pretty old pieces that I've had in my closet but haven't worn in a long time. I like when I find pieces in my closet that I haven't seen in awhile and when you wear them it's like new. I don't know about you but sometimes I get so used to wearing some things that I wear them constantly, so when I get into a fashion stump I look in my closet and try to wear something out of the norm. What do you do when your in a fashion stump?
So one of my new things that I like doing is making jewelry, and the necklace that I'm wearing is one of the things that I've made recently. I'm not sure if I like it or if I should change it up a bit. What do you think of the necklace?
If you haven't done so don't forget to follow me through Bloglovin' Google Friend Connect is going to go away after July 1st. Just click the button below if you already have an account and if you don't it's free and easy to sign up.

Envelope Clutches
Hey Everyone, I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I on the other hand I have not been feeling too well, I think it's because this crazy California weather, one day its scorching hot and the next its overcast and cold. But I'm starting to feel better now. I hope the weather makes up it's mind soon because I don't want to get sick again. hehe :)
Well one of my favorite things in fashion is accessories because they can transform jeans and t-shirt look to something fabulous with the right accessories. Plus accessories don't really have a size so they look great on everyone! Right now I'm really loving envelope clutches, I think there chic and they can add just the right amount of style to any outfit. Plus they come in so many colors and styles, I'm sure everyone will be able to find one that fits them.
Below is just a mood board that made of different envelope clutches so that you could see they come in a variety of colors and styles. All the bags below are all under $50 dollars too so that you can see that they are also very affordable. On the sides of the mood board are two pictures that show you two ways that the envelope clutch can be styled, I really like how both clutches in the pictures make a big difference in both outfits, they give a great punch of color and detail to both looks.

I also found a great tutorial on how to make an Envelope clutch with no sewing. I put the video below so that you can watch it or you can click on the link to watch it. (Here) In the tutorial she shows you two different clutches that you can make. She makes it seem really easy, I think I'm going to try it one of these days and I'll you all see how it goes. :)
What do you think of Envelope clutches? What are some of your favorite accessories?
Have a wonderful day ~Nina~

All you need is Love
Hey everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend! It's been a very gloomy weekend so I was happy I could wear my new sweater because it was cold enough and not the usual 80 degrees in California.
I got this sweater at Old Navy and it was on sale, I actually really wanted the other designs but I had to go with this one because it was the only one in my size. Has that ever happened to you, where you have to get the design just because it was in your size? I think the design of the sweater is growing on me and I'm starting to like it more. I really like this sweater because its really thin and it's great for when the weather isn't as hot.

Something Different
Hey everyone, I hope everyone had a great weekend. So I was really inspired by the girls that do Marvelous Mondays (Goodbye Hollywood, Fat Fashionable Feminist, Cheri'z Angel and style luvin, and two other girls) I love the concept that they have to dress up on Monday's to make the day less of a hated day. If you haven't checked them out, click the links and check them out! :) But yeah their theme last week was to wear something that they have trouble styling. I thought this was such a great thing because I have a number of pieces in my closet that I have trouble styling.
One of the most challenging pieces in my closet is this kimono style jacket from H&M. I bought this 2 years ago and I have only worn it once, I bought it for a friends wedding because when I saw it I loved the colors and I was happy something from H&M fit me because it's kinda rare I find things that fit me. But yeah I wore it as a jacket for my friends wedding but i actually didn't even like the way it looked but I had no choice because it was the only jacket I brought to the wedding, so the only reason why I wore it was because I had no choice. So I thought of exactly this jacket in my closet when I saw what the girls theme last Monday.
So this is how I styled the jacket, really simple with some forever 21+ jeans and a black tank from old navy. I wore it with my boots that I got from the swap meet and a mixture of jewelry that I've gotten from different places. I'm not sure if I really like the way it came out but I think its ok.
Here's a closer look of my jewelry, the watch is from Target and the bracelets are from different stores I'm not too sure about. I was having a bad hair day and my go to accessory for my hair is a headband, if you saw my old blog I was obsessed with headbands, and a lot of the headbands I own I have made including this one.
The last picture is my doggy Mocha and me, I think she was getting jealous and wanted to be in the pictures so i decided to let her be in one! :)
Have a wonderful day ~ Nina ~
