Summer Breeze

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a great week! I'm pretty sure everyone is happy it's the weekend once again. The weather has been nice here in California not too hot and a little bit of breeze outside. This is the kind of weather I like because it's so nice outside.

{top|Mode Plus} {tank|F21+} {jeans|Old Navy} {shoes|Charlotte Russe} {necklace|Swap Meet}

If you've been following my blog you probably know by now that I like to wear bright colors just like this top. I got this orange top last year when tangerine tango was the pantone color of the year. It's the first orange top I've ever had because orange really isn't one of my favorite colors. But I felt like I needed to add new colors in my closet and why not get one in the color of the year. I'm really glad I got this shirt now because I'm really loving bright colors this summer and I'm happy that I have to shirt to wear.

Here's a close up of my necklace, I really liked it because it really looks art deco to me and I love jewelry that have an art deco feel to them. The other necklace I got is also has an art deco feel to it as well. You will see that necklace in an upcoming post. :)

The necklace that I'm wearing is something I stumbled on at the swamp meet. I've mentioned before on my blog that I usually go with my mom to the swap meet because she goes there to buy vegetables and when I go with my mom I always find some cool things when I go. Plus everything is really cheap and you can always haggle with them as well and this necklace is one of those things cool things I've found at the swap meet. I got this necklace and another that was two for $5 and hey that's a great deal for me because these kind of necklaces usually go for a lot more individually. Don't you just love a great deal? Where are your go to places to find a great deal?

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! ~Nina~

Curves Around the World - Animal Print

Hey everyone, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I have a have some fun news, I was asked to participate with 4 other bloggers around the world to do a series of themed outfit post every Wednesday. I know a lot of the blogs that I follow have there own weekly themed post as well, so when I was asked to participate, I was very excited. The title of our group is "Curves Around the World" because we are literally from all over the world and I'm so excited to work with these ladies. Be sure to check them out, there links will be at the bottom of this post.
So this weeks theme is Animal Print and I wasn't sure which item in my closet I wanted to use. But I know I had a pair of shorts that are animal print that I haven't worn in awhile so I decided to go more of a casual look since I wasn't going anywhere special, and I was just going to go shopping.
{top & Jacket|F21+} {shorts|H&M} {Jewelry|Philippines} {shoes|LoveD}
You can probably guess that I really like these short boots a lot because I wear them quite a bit. I just think they are so comfortable and they go with a lot of things. Plus when I go shopping I like to wear comfortable shoes.
Shopping was a bust, I don't go shopping often, so I was excited to go. But I hate it when you actually go shopping and you want to find something and you end up finding nothing. I know for me it's hard to go shopping in the first place because there aren't too many stores that actually have plus size clothing and at the mall that I went to it's very limited. So when I go to the mall I go to all those stores first and see if they have anything I like. And since I didn't see anything at those stores, I went to stores that might have my size and I was sad because things I actually liked didn't fit me. I know that's what a lot of girls go through when they shop, especially when your plus size. Do any of your girls have that problem when you shop? I know a lot of people shop online, but I'm the kind of person that likes trying on things and seeing how it looks on me so I get scared buying clothes online. But I still enjoying going into stores and looking at the different clothes, even though I might not fit into them, I like looking at them. :)
Well here's a close up of my animal print because I wasn't sure what kind of animal print it is. I think it's a combination of different animal prints, I think that's why I chose these shorts because I like that it's a combination of animal prints. What kind of animal print do you think these shorts are?

Now check out the other ladies and see there great Animal print outfits.

Have a wonderful rest of the week everyone! ~Nina~

Think in Bright Colors

Hey everyone, Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a great week so far! The weather has been great here in California not to hot and not to cold just perfect 70 degree weather, just how I like it! So that means I can wear light layers and not die of heat.
If you saw my last post I was wearing a top made by my mom, and this top that I'm wearing was the pattern my mom used to make it. The top is actually a dress and I usually wear it with leggings but I thought of using it as a top. I really like mixing up pieces from my wardrobe and using it in different ways. Do you like experimenting with pieces in your closet? I am a person who doesn't have lots of money and I don't shop often but that doesn't mean  I can't be fashionable with the pieces you already have in your wardrobe. One way of doing that is recreating pieces that you already have wardrobe
{top & necklace|H&M} {skirt|Target} {Jacket|F21+} {sunglasses & bracklets|forever 21} {shoes|Charlotte Russe}

I love this bright colored skirt and I've only worn this once before and since it was such a pretty day that I thought it would be a great piece to wear out. Since the skirt is so bright I decided to tone it down with the polkadots. And I love how the skirts belt actually fits me because usually belts that come with things I buy never fit when I wear it with the actual item. So I was really happy that this belt actually fit because I think the color really compliments the outfit well.

Have a wonderful rest of the week everyone! ~Nina~

Spring Adventures

Hey everyone, I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. Since the weather was so nice here in California, my friends and I decided to take a little adventure to LA. It was fun because we didn't have anything planned and we just went with the flow and went where the wind took us. It turned out really well, not everything we wanted to do happened but it was a great day and what made it even better was being with great friends.

So our first stop in LA was lunch at a place called URTH Caffe and it's in a real cool industrial area with lots of bricks. So I asked one of my friends to take my outfit pictures because I figured it would be a great area to take pictures. She inspired me to take some different pictures then I usually take. How do you think they came out? I really like how they came out.

{jeans|F21+} {sweater|Old Navy} {Top|made by my mom} {Bag|BCBG}
{sunglasses|Forever 21} {Boots|swap meet} {watch|target}

Our next stop was the San Antonio winery, for wine tasting, a tour and some wine drinking. It was a lot of fun and the let me tell you the wine was so delicious, if your in the LA area this is a great place to visit. There food looked really yummy but since we ate already we just sat in the cafe and had a bottle of our favorite wine that we tasted, which was the peach Stella Rosa, it was very refreshing.

Does anyone watch Keeping up with Kardashians? Well on the show the Khloe has a stuff animal giraffe, so when I saw this giraffe at the winery I had to take a picture with it. It was so cute, that I could not take a picture with it.

Well the rest of our day in LA was we went to the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) which was near little Tokyo so we stopped by there while we walked to the 2nd MOCA museum. Then we were suppose to watch a movie at the Hollywood cemetery but it was sold out. So we ended up having dinner at Pink's hot dogs, which is another great place to try if your in the LA area.

Well have a wonderful day! ~Nina~

The Renaissance Faire

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is having a great week so far. This past weekend I was able to go to the Renaissance Faire with a few friends. It was a fun experience, I have never been before so it was cool to see everyone dressed up in costumes and speaking in old English. We were able to do some archery with a bow and arrow, It was so much harder then I thought but it was a fun experience. We even watched the Jousting competition, it was very interesting.

This is the outfit that I wore, it was very hot outside so once again I didn't wear a jacket. I knew it would be a hot day and we were going to be outside, so i decided to wear something light that would keep me cool. Thank you to my friend Iris who helped me take pictures of my outfit that day.
{sunglasses|Forever 21} {shirt & shorts|Old Navy} {tank|F21+} {shoes|LoveD} {bag|my moms} {necklace|Philpinnes} {watch|Kohls}

So below are a few pictures from the Faire, I wish I took more but because it was so hot, I was kind of lazy. hehe

They had so many cool random things that were cool, but things were so expensive. They had some pretty flower crowns but they were way over priced. These masks were really cool too and they had so many different kinds and  they have some great details on them as well.
Above is a pictures of some of the performers at the Faire, look how great there costumes and makeup are. I love how they were just chilling on the ground while people surrounded them and took there picture.

This is a picture of my friends and I, as you can see two of my friends dressed up as a pirate and a gypsy. I wish I would have dressed up too because it was fun seeing everyone dressed up and it would of been fun to dress up as well. But I didn't really have something to dress up in.
The last picture is of my friend Iris and I, wearing some really cool hats that they let us try on. I actually really liked the hat, I think it's a pirate hat and it had a really cool feather in it too.

Have any of you ever been to the Renaissance Faire? What would you dress up as if you were to go?

Have a wonderful day! ~Nina~

Mother's day!

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend and had a wonderful mother's day with your loved ones. It was once again a very hot weekend that was in the 100's so yeah it feels like summer here in California already. So instead of going out for a lunch with my mom we went out for a dinner because we didn't want to go out in the heat. We had a nice dinner at a seafood buffet because my mom was craving seafood and since my mom hasn't been to this buffet we decided to go try it out.

This is my wonderful mom and me before we got dinner, we went with my dad too of coarse. My mom is like my best friend but of coarse we have our ups and downs but I'm very thankful to have her in my life. My mom is so fashionable, look at her in her Mod style dress from Forever 21.

{shirt|JCpenny} {tank|Old Navy} {skirt|Mom made} {shoes| Converse} {Watch|Kohls} {Necklace| market in the Philippines}

Since it was so hot, I went out earlier with my mom to do errands and the car said it was 103 degrees outside, so hot! So I decided not to wear my typical sweater or jacket to cover my arms because it was just too hot. I am still not that comfortable in wearing sleeveless clothing but I think with the weather being so hot I have to get over it because it's just too hot to put layers on. I seriously don't know how I did it before. But let me tell you I'm really glad I didn't wear something to cover my arms because like I said it was really hot and I think it really does help not to cover up.

Last picture is my holding up my necklace, it's a little robot, so i was trying to show it off better but it didn't come out too well.

How was your Mother's day? To all the mother's out there I hope you had a wonderful Mother's day! :)

Have a wonderful day to all of you! ~Nina~

Baseball cap trend

Hello Everyone, I hope you all had a great week and if you didn't, well it's the weekend so you can make it better by doing something great. I know that it's Friday and I used to do Friday favorites but I decided not to do that anymore and I'm just going to do monthly favorites instead.

So today I wanted to write about a trend I've been seeing a lot of and that is baseball caps. I know that summer is approaching and that also means baseball season but the baseball cap is something that is being worn more then just at baseball games. You can see this trend being worn on the Runway and on every day women.

Baseball caps on the Runway, you can see that it was worn not just with sporty attire but with girly look as well.

(Credit to original photo here)

Baseball caps aren't just a great accessory that you can use to give a little something different to an outfit and they can also help keep the sun out of your eyes on a sunny day. Plus there are so many different styles out there of baseball caps that you are bound to find a style that fits you. I know I'm not a person that has ever worn a baseball cap before because one I'm not a very sporty person. But I think after seeing the different ways that people are wearing the baseball hats, I'm thinking I might try this trend out for the summer.

What do you think of baseball caps? Do you think this is a trend that you would try out?

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! ~Nina~

Brighten up a gray day

Hello everyone, I hope everyone is having a great week so far! The weather here in California has been overcast and raining. Oh this weird weather. But on the bright side cooler weather means I get to wear some of my warmer clothing again. I love layering and to be honest I love cold weather more then I like hot weather because I don't like the feeling of being hot. But don't get me wrong I like when the weather is warm just not scorching hot but it gets like that in California. So I'm glad that we get this little break from the scorching hot weather.

I love the earrings that I'm wearing, they're like long chains and I got them from forever 21 and I feel kinda rock and roll in them. I'm a very girly girl but I love to add little touches that make me less girly. At the same time I don't like being too dark you can say, that's why I decided to wear this mint colored sweater with all the dark colors that I was wearing.

 {top | H&M} {sweater | Old Navy} {Leggings | Target} {Boots | swap meet} {earrings | Forever 21}

I love these boots that I'm wearing too because they lace up. I'm the kind of person that has a hard time finding boots because I have big calves. So finding a pair of boots that fit over my calves is really hard, that's why I really like these boots because they are lace up you can adjust them to fit. So I suggest if you are like me and have a hard time finding boots that fit your calves you should try some lace up boots. :)

Lastly a picture with my doggy Mocha because she loves to come out when I'm taking pictures.

Have a wonderful day ~ Nina ~

Colorful Tribal Print

Happy Monday Everyone, I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I have a great and busy weekend. The weather here in California is so crazy, this weekend it was in the 100's and right now its so gloomy and it's raining outside.

This is the outfit I wore to my friends baby shower on Saturday. It was really hot outside, like I said it was in the 100's where I lived but I knew where I was going it might be a little cooler. So I wore this kinda like tribal print dress. I really like this dress because it's colorful and I love the design on it as well. My only problem with this dress is it had buttons going down the whole dress and the buttons were popping out in some area's so I put small safety pins in the area's I was afraid might pop open. I learned that from one of the bloggers that I follow and I think it worked great, I had no problems with my dress that day. :)

{dress | Target} {sweater | Forever 21} {shoes | Aldo} {bracelets | Multiple places}

I really wanted to wear sandals with the dress but I'm still on a hunt for a great summer sandal that I can wear with everything. So I decided to pair my black oxfords with the dress. I love this shoes because they are so comfortable. These were actually my school shoes when I went to school in the Philippines. See I had to buy black flats and the sizes in the Philippines didn't fit me because I have wide feet and there sizes run really small, I know you can't really tell in the photo's though but my feet are big. So I went to so many different places in search for school shoes but nothing fit. So I decided to go to a brand that had American sizes that I knew would fit me and that was Aldo, and I fell in love with these oxfords when I saw them. I haven't really worn them since I got back from the Philippines, so I'm really starting to love them again!

Oh and this yellow sweater is from forever 21 not forever 21+, I got it awhile ago and before honestly I hated going to forever 21 because clothes never fit me but I would go with my mom because yeah she wears clothes from forever 21. At the time I was looking for something to wear with a dress for an occasion and I would have never thought to look at forever 21 because back then they didn't have the faith line or the forever 21+ line at the store near me. But while my mom was browsing she store she found this sweater and said it looked like it would fit me and at first I didn't want to try it on because I thought oh it wont fit me. But my mom convinced me to just try it on and I was so surprised that it fit. It just goes to show that you can't let sizes intimidate you, just try things on and you never know it might fit you. :)

Have a wonderful day everyone! ~ Nina ~

Envelope Clutches

Hey Everyone, I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I on the other hand I have not been feeling too well, I think it's because this crazy California weather, one day its scorching hot and the next its overcast and cold. But I'm starting to feel better now. I hope the weather makes up it's mind soon because I don't want to get sick again. hehe :)

Well one of my favorite things in fashion is accessories because they can transform jeans and t-shirt look to something fabulous with the right accessories. Plus accessories don't really have a size so they look great on everyone! Right now I'm really loving envelope clutches, I think there chic and they can add just the right amount of style to any outfit. Plus they come in so many colors and styles, I'm sure everyone will be able to find one that fits them.

Below is just a mood board that made of different envelope clutches so that you could see they come in a variety of colors and styles. All the bags below are all under $50 dollars too so that you can see that they are also very affordable. On the sides of the mood board are two pictures that show you two ways that the envelope clutch can be styled, I really like how both clutches in the pictures make a big difference in both outfits, they give a great punch of color and detail to both looks.
Envelope Clutches

I also found a great tutorial on how to make an Envelope clutch with no sewing. I put the video below so that you can watch it or you can click on the link to watch it. (Here) In the tutorial she shows you two different clutches that you can make. She makes it seem really easy, I think I'm going to try it one of these days and I'll you all see how it goes. :)

What do you think of Envelope clutches? What are some of your favorite accessories?

Have a wonderful day ~Nina~
