What I wore: Christmas

Hello Everyone! So I know this post is a bit late but I think the Holidays is a great reason to be a little late with posts. Plus our group "Curves Around the World" decided that we should skip this weeks post just because of the holiday. So I thought it's OK if i post this a bit late. But yeah I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and spending lots of time with loved ones. But yeah I can't believe 2013 is almost over, I'm kind of glad though, I'm looking forward to a better 2014! :)

So my family used to celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve and open presents at midnight but since we have little kids in the family we now celebrate Christmas on Christmas. But I go with my parents to midnight mass. So you know what that means? I have two Christmas outfits to show you! :)
{Skirt & Jacket - Forever 21+} {top - Old Navy} {shoes - Ross}
So my first outfit is from Christmas eve and it's what I wore to midnight mass with my parents. So my mom wanted us to all wear red and I don't have a lot of red clothes, so when I was looking through my clothes I forgot about this faux leather skirt I got from Forever 21+. This skirt is very comfortable but let me tell you something, it did not go well with the church benches, every time I stood up and sat down they made squeaky noises. So half way through the mass I took my jacket off and used it to sit on so my skirt wouldn't make noises anymore. Now that I look back at it it's pretty funny, but I learned my lesson I can not wear leather to church. hehe :)
{Skirt - DIY} {top(dress) - Forever 21+} {shoes - Forever 21}
So this is my outfit for my family Christmas, sorry the picture was taken at the end of the say so my hair is has already fallen and I'm a bit shiny! hehe But yeah my inspiration for this outfit is a tutu, I've seen so many awesome bloggers that have worn beautiful tutu's and I've always dreamed of having one of my own. So I thought Christmas would be a great occasion to wear one. So for as long as I remember my mom has always made me something to wear for Christmas, so when she asked what I wanted her to make I told her I wanted a tutu. She actually didn't want to make it because she said "Tutu's are only for skinny girls, you will look fatter in one!" Well I didn't care and I wanted a tutu, so she made one not as fluffy as usual tutu's are and let me say I loved it. She didn't think it looked very nice on me and tried to tell me to change into something else but I've learned not to care too much of what people think, as long as I liked it and I felt good in it I'm going to wear it. Not to say I didn't hear a lot of my family tell me otherwise, but that's another story.
So when I got my skirt I actually didn't think of what I was going to wear with it, I actually wanted to wear a plaid shirt with a statement necklace. But shopping the day before Christmas was a little out of the question for me. So I tried on all my shirts and I couldn't find anything to go with the skirt. So I tried to think outside of the box and I saw this dress, and thought why not give it a try and I am so happy how it came out. So besides what other people said to me about my outfit, I was really happy with it and I love how it came out. So a little word of advice, no matter what anyone says, if you are happy and comfortable in something wear it, don't listen to any negative things people might say to you because you know what? You are beautiful! :)
oh one more thing...
Happy New Year Everyone!!!
Have a wonderful one and see you in 2014!

The Best of Curves Around the World 2013

Hello my dears! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I know I enjoyed being with my family! It's my favorite time of the year! :)

But yeah it is that time again for another "Curves Around the World" post, sorry it's a little late because Christmas took up so much time I haven't had time till right now to write the post. But yeah this weeks theme is a little different, instead of posting a new outfit post were looking back at our different posts and sharing our favorites. Now this was a hard one because I have so many favorite themes that we've done. But my favorite has to be when we did "Pink!"
This was my favorite not because of the outfits but because of the background of the theme. We decided to do Pink in October for Breast Cancer Awareness month. I think it's such a wonderful thing for all of us women to come together and show our support for a certain cause, "Girl Power!"

But yeah I want to thank all the girls that have come and gone and the girls who are still in the group for inspiring me so much this year. I've been pushed out of my comfort zone and even gained a bigger understanding of my style while being part of this group. I'm so happy to be part of this group and I hope that our group continues to make me grow personally and fashionably. I'm so honored to be part of such a wonderful group of ladies.

So since this post is about my favorite post, it's going to be a little short. But I will have another post up this weekend with my Christmas outfits! :)

Curves Around the World: Clutch Bag

Hey Everyone! How is everyone doing this week? You know it was 80 degrees this week in California? Were having summer weather in winter, not cool because I've been loving the cooler weather. Fortunately it got cooler today, so that's a good sign. Are you ready for Christmas, there's only 6 more days!
Well it's the middle of the week, you know what that means another "Curves Around the World" post and this weeks theme is "Clutch bag!" So I'm actually not a big clutch bag person, I don't own many and most of the ones I do own have a chain strap, that I will usually use instead of using it as a clutch. I'm just more comfortable with bags with straps, especially ones that you can just wear over the shoulder. But for this post I will actually use the clutch the way it's suppose to be.
This clutch is really old, I think I got this my first year of college from forever 21. I wont say how long ago that was but it was a pretty long time ago. But I really like this clutch and I think that even after so many years it's still in style. I love the colors on the bag it's very fall and I love the paisley pattern on it as well.
{clutch & heels - Forever 21} {Jeans - Forever 21+} {top - Wet seal +}
So this isn't the original outfit I was going to wear, but I didn't really have much time to change so I figure that the outfit I wore today would be fine. It's because the sun goes down so early this time of year so when I get home I rush to try to take my pictures before it's dark outside. The tank underneath is a burnt orange which I felt like complemented the colors of the clutch but it didn't photograph well. But yeah on the back of my shirt there's a skull, if you remember when I wrote about the opening of wet seal+ (here) this was the top that I bought from there. I didn't get a clear picture of it to post, sorry.
Since I was wearing jeans I decided to dress it up with heels, because when I think of clutches I think of a more dressier outfit. I love how heels can dress up an outfit, like you saw in my last post how I wore heels with sweatpants, heels can take a casual everyday outfit to one for a night out.

What do you think of clutches? How do you wear clutches?

Curves Around the World: Sweatpants

Hello Lovelies!!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Christmas is seriously around the corner and I've been running around getting things ready. But I absolutely love Christmas season, it just makes me so happy!
But yeah it's that time again another "Curves Around the World" post time! This weeks theme was suggested by the lovely Thulie, sweatpants! Your probably thinking sweatpants really!?! And you know what it was my reaction at first too but then I thought of it as a great way to step out my comfort zone because I don't wear sweatpants as an outfit. Plus it's just the perfect time for sweatpants because it's been cold her in California! So hopefully I did this challenge justice! :)
So here's the look that I came up with, I knew I wanted to dress up the sweatpants. The first thing I knew I wanted to add to the outfit was black heels because black heels can dress up any outfit. I actually had my pants rolled down at first but then it looked bulky around the heels so I pulled them up a bit and I really liked how it came out. What do you think of my heels with sweatpants?
{pants & tank - Old Navy} {Jacket - Ross} {Shoes & hat - Forever 21}
I wanted to keep the top simple to pair with my sweatpants, so to add a little bit of flare I decided to wear my red faux leather bomber jacket. I haven't had an opportunity to wear this jacket this season, so I knew this would be a great time to pull it out and wear it. This jacket was a great find at Ross, it's really rare to find cute jackets in plus sizes at my Ross. So when I found this I knew I had to get it, plus it was only $20 and that's a great deal for a jacket. To top the outfit off I wore a sparkly beret to give it a little sparkle to the outfit! :)

What do you think of my sweatpants outfit? Do you wear sweatpants out?

Curves Around the World: One Dress Three Ways

Hello my Dears!!!
I hope everyone is having an amazing week so far! It's hard to believe it's already December and Christmas and the New Year are around the corner!
Well it's the middle of the week, you know what that means? "Curves Around the World" post and this weeks challenge is one of my favorites 1 dress 3 ways! I really like this challenge because if your like me and on a budget being able to wear one piece several different ways can expand your wardrobe. Plus I find it fun styling one piece in different ways and I know this challenge is for 3 different ways but I think I could style it a lot more other ways too.
1st Outfit
{dress-H&M}  {top-Old Navy}  {boots-Ross}
This first outfit is something I would wear to go out with friends. If it was colder I would wear this with tights or leggings with the outfit. And I know I wore these boots and this top in my last post and a few other times but I'm really liking these two pieces a lot right now.
2nd Outfit
{Jacket - Forever 21+} {boots - Target}
This next outfit is a more dressed up look with the faux leather jacket and the ankle booties and I added a statement necklace. I think this my favorite way to wear this dress, I used to wear this dress a lot when I used to go out.
3rd Outfit
{jacket-Forever 21+}  {jeans-Target}  {shoes-H&M}
The last outfit of my 3 looks is converting the dress into a shirt by tucking it into my jeans. This outfit is a very casual look that I would wear to go get coffee with my friends or something very low key.

So those are my 3 looks and I think the key to being able to wear things in different ways are basics because with basics you can always dress it up or down. So do you think of my 3 looks? Which one is your favorite?

Now don't forget to check out the other wonderful ladies from "Curves Around the World" and Let us welcome our new member Jennifer from Germany!!! :)

Giving Thanks, What I wore for Thanksgiving!

Hello Lovelies!!!

I hope everyone is doing great! A few days ago we celebrated Thanksgiving and I hope everyone that celebrates Thanksgiving had a great one! I love any holiday that brings my family together because my family doesn't come together much so when it's holiday time I get really excited. Plus when Thanksgiving passes I know it means that Christmas is coming and I really love Christmas, it's my favorite holiday! What's your favorite Holiday?
So for Thanksgiving it happened to be a pretty warm day here in California so I decided to wear a skirt. I think if you've been following my blog for awhile you can tell I really like wearing skirts, there just my favorite thing to wear because they are so comfortable. Even if it was cooler I would've probably worn the same thing but with tights underneath. But yeah I really love this skirt because it's made of sweater material, I don't think you can see it in the pictures, but it's so comfy. I remember when I saw this skirt I thought "Wow a sweater skirt, that's going to be comfy!" And when I tried the skirt on, let me tell you, it is very comfy! But it's too hot to wear during the summer so now that it's fall/winter it's a perfect time to wear it!
{top-Old Navy} {tank-Forever 21+} {skirt-Target} {boots-Ross}
Did anyone go Black Friday shopping? I really wanted to go but I really dislike how crazy things get during Black Friday so I decided to just stay in and sleep in. But I did stop by a some stores and the mall later in the day and I was really happy that it wasn't too crazy. I was able to buy most of my Christmas presents, I just have a few more things to get but for the post part I'm done with my Christmas shopping. How are you doing with your Christmas shopping?

But yeah since this is my Thanksgiving post, I wanted to take the time to say Thank you to everyone that stops by my blog and to those who take time to leave comments, Thank you so much! I'm so thankful for this blog because it really has gotten me to a happier place in my life and it really is something I enjoy doing and I know this blog would be nothing with out all the people that subscribe and comment. Thanks you all so much and if you do read my blog but don't comment, thank you too!

Curves Around the World: Steal her Style

Hello Lovelies!!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far!!! I'm excited for tomorrow, Thanksgiving, I'm excited to be with family and all the yummy food! To those that celebrate Thanksgiving I hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving! And to all my followers I want to say that I am so Thankful to have you all follow me, it is such a blessings! :)

It's the middle of the week, you know what that means, Curves around the world! And for my new followers "Curves Around the World" is a group of wonderful Curvy ladies from different parts of the world that come together and take part in different themes each week! This week is such a fun one it's "Steal her style" week which is we steal the style of another member of our group. The person who I got was Helen from Everyone Should Sparkle
So here is my take of Helen's style! I was inspired by her tartan look where she wore something similar. She was wearing leggings and a shirt dress that was tartan. I super loved the tartan shirt dress was wearing in the outfit, so when I found out that I got Helen I knew I was going to use that as inspiration. The scarf is a little bit of me but I think she would wear a scarf. But if I didn't wear the scarf I would have worn a statement necklace because Helen wears some great necklaces with her outfits.
{shirt dress-Old Navy} {Leggings-Forever 21+} {shoes-Call it Spring} {scarf-DIY}
So I wanted to do a makeup look because she always has great makeup and takes closeups of them but none of my closeups worked and didn't come out. But I hope I did your style justice Helen!

Sorry for the short post this week but I have to get some stuff ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Once again everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving, I hope you have a great one and those who aren't in the US I hope you have a wonderful week. Oh and to those in the US if you shop on Black Friday, I hope you all get some great things! :)

Now don't forget to check out the other wonderful ladies from "Curves Around the World" and see who's style they are stealing!

Curves Around the World: Seasonal

Hey Lovelies!!! So I'm still battling this cold right now, but fortunately I'm feeling a little better today. But I'm so happy the weather has cooled down here in California. How's the weather where you are?
Well it is that time again for another "Curves Around the World" post and this weeks theme is really interesting because it's "Seasonal," and it's really interesting because since the other ladies and myself are from all over the world that means that we all have different weather from where we are from. So this will be a fun post to see all the other ladies outfits this week, so don't forget to check them out. On a side note, not sure if you can see or not, I got magenta highlights in my hair.
So since this weeks theme is "Seasonal," where I'm from it's currently Fall but here in California the weather varies a lot. But recently it's been nice and cool in the 60's and 70's which I think is perfect weather because it's cool enough to wear sweaters and boots but not freezing cold. But even though it's cold right now, it can be in the 80's and 90's easily as well. That is why I am enjoying this cool weather right now.
So since the season is "Fall" I decided to wear my go to Fall outfit, which consists a skirt with tights, and boots. I love wearing skirts in fall and tights are a perfect way to keep you warm while you wearing them. You all know that I love boots, this pair is actually suppose to go up to my knees but again they don't fit my calves so as you can see it's bunched up around my ankles. But I really loved the color of the boots and I figured they might not fit the way they are suppose to but I think they look fine. It's one of those things that you just make it work for you.
{sweater & tights-Old Navy} {top-Jcpenny} {boots-Ross} {skirt-made by my mom}
So the top I'm wearing is something that was so hard for me to find, last year I searched everywhere to try to find a peter pan collared top but all the tops I tried on for some reason would never fit me right. Until I finally found this top at jcpenny which is a place I don't really shop at but I saw this in an ad and I decided to give it a try to see if it would fit me and I was so happy it did and plus I love the color of the top. So the moral of my story is that when you look for clothes you shouldn't limit yourself to certain stores, you never know what you will find. I know I used to only look at certain stores because I figured they wouldn't have my size or something I would like but now I go into a lot more stores because you never know what you could find.

Now don't forget to check out the other wonderful ladies from "Curves Around the World" and their seasonal outfits!!!

Curves Around the World: Plaid

Hello Everyone! I hope your doing great, I am starting to get get sick again! :( The weather here in California is really weird because it was cold yesterday and today it was 95 degrees so my body is not taking this weird weather well. I hope it gets cold soon and stays cold because I'm ready for cold weather.
But yeah it's that time again! Another "Curves Around the World" post. This weeks theme is "Plaid!" I was so excited for this theme because it's one of my favorite trends right now. But when I was thinking what to wear I wasn't sure what to wear, Oh blogger problems! lol But yeah I have a few different plaid items but I decided to go with my plaid leggings that I got from forever 21+
So I wanted to keep my outfit casual because they were leggings but I added heels to dress up the outfit a bit. I wear leggings a lot but I've never had a pair of printed leggings before because I wasn't sure how they would look on me. But when I saw these leggings I really wanted them plus they were only $8. How could you say no to them, plus they are a great color. They had a black and white version of these but I just really like the dark red color of these. When I wore them I was surprised how much I liked them, the only problem I have with them are they are very long and they are bunched up at the bottom. But other then that they are really comfy just like regular leggings.
{Leggings-Forever 21+} {sweater-Old Navy} {top-ModePlus} {shoes-Forever 21}
So this shirt I'm wearing, I don't know if you can see it but it's an Elephant! When I saw this shirt I know I had to get it because elephants have a special place in my heart and I didn't own anything with an elephant on it. So I actually took a few different outfit pictures with this shirt because I wore it a lot in the summer but none of those pictures ever made it to the blog for different reasons. But I'm glad it finally get's to make an appearance on my blog.
Last picture is my my dog Mocha because she was in so many of my pictures, she kept creeping into the background of them. But I was able to crop her out of the pictures but I decided to take one with her just because I think she wanted to be in the pictures. I'm trying to grow out her hair that's why it looks all crazy!

So before I end my blog post I just wanted to take a moment to talk about what is going on in the Philippines. I know many of you have heard about the devastation that happened recently because of the Super Typhoon Haiyan. It's so heartbreaking to see whats going on there, my heart and prayers go to the people that were affected by the typhoon. I also wanted to say that if you donate make sure you know where your money goes, check out this website, Charity Navigator, to see how to make sure your money goes to the right people.

Curves Around the World: Signature Color

Hello lovelies! How is everyone doing? I hope your having a spectacular week so far! For me I'm trying to get used to daylight savings because now when I come home it's dark and I'm not used to it. I have to start taking my pictures on the weekends because it is too dark to take them when I come home.
But yes it's the middle of the week and you know what that means! "Curves Around the World" And this weeks theme is "Signature Color," and this was a little hard for me because for me a Signature Color is a color that you wear often and is your favorite color to wear. Well for me my favorite colors to wear and that I wear very often are the colors black and white. I know your probably thinking how boring but it's true I have a lot of colors in my closet but I feel the most comfortable in and that I wear the most is black and white. I just think it's really chic and when I have nothing to wear I look at my black and white clothing and will usually find something to wear.
{Top and Skirt| Forever 21+} {Boots | Target}
So here it is I bring you a monochromatic look, this black skater skirt from forever 21+ is one of my favorites. I wore it so much during the summer and I was surprised that I never showed it on the blog. The fabric is pretty heavy so it will be a great skirt to wear for fall and winter with added tights. I love this white top because it fits really well, I usually have a hard time finding tops that fit me properly because I have wide shoulders and a lot of times shirts are really tight around my arms. But yeah I really do love black and white, you can catch me wearing either or on a daily basis. Plus black and white are a big part of my wardrobe which is probably why I wear it a lot.
So I know I've mentioned this in a few posts already but I love boots and these are one of my favorites, I've had these boots for a awhile and I'm really sad they are starting to tear. I don't know about you but I have really big calves because I was a swimmer when I was younger and because of that I have really big calves. So finding boots that fit over my calves is a huge problem, I recently went to Ross and tried on some over the Knee boots and it wouldn't zip around my calves, which is my biggest problem finding boots. But when I find a pair that fit over my calves I get so excited this is one of my 2 pairs that I have that go over my calves. But I'm not going to lie they are really tight, there suppose to be slouchy boots, but who cares I can wear them however I want to. So for me I can only wear them with bare legs, tights or leggings. I'm still on the hunt to find boots I can actually wear with jeans so I'm on the lookout for some wide calf boot, I know forever 21+ has some up on the website but I really want to try them on so I'm waiting for them to go in stores. The reason why I want to try them on is because last year I tried on one of there wide width boots and they didn't fit on my calves, so I want to try them one and see if they fit properly. :)

Well that's my signature color. What are your signature colors?

Now don't forget to check out the other wonderful ladies from "Curves Around the World!!!" and their signature colors!

Pinay Curvies: Selfie

Hello Lovelies!!! I hope you all had a great weekend! I'm sad the weekend is over, it was my birthday this past week so I'm kinda sad that its over! Plus its coming to reality that I'm older! ahhh LOL
So today this post is for the Pinay Curvies Swag October Challenge and it's about a #Selfie! Oh man I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this challenge because I am not part of the selfie generation and I have enough trouble taking pictures by myself for the outfit pictures. So taking a close up picture of myself is another level I'm not that comfortable about doing. But I wanted to support the group and also challenge myself. So here you go!
  • How did you make your #selfie special?
I think the fact that I took some selfies for this post is pretty special because if it wasn't for this challenge I would have never posted a selfie on this blog because it's just not me. Plus I think I look pretty awkward in my pictures and sorry for my big pimple on my chin, I tried to cover it up with makeup as much as I could. lol Oh and if Helen from "Everyone should Sparkle" reads this I tried to do my makeup like yours and put light eye shadow in the inner parts of my eyes to try to make it stand out. I don't know if I did you justice girl, but I tried.

  • What's your inspiration for your #selfie?
Well I'm not really sure if I had an inspiration when I took these selfies but I just wanted to put on makeup that I usually wear on a daily basis and I didn't want to go all out because I wasn't going anywhere. But yeah my daily products consists of MAC's studio fix, NYX eyebrow cake powder, Maybelline mascara, and a lip product (This is a Revlon lipstick). But for the selfie I added eyeliner, eyeshadow and blush, which I use a lot too but not on a daily basis. What's your everyday makeup?

  • What do think of Selfies? Who's your favorite celebrity Selfie?
So I mentioned how I feel about selfies above and I'm not really a fan because I feel really awkward taking them and I feel like I look awkward too. But I know it's another thing that's in my head that I should get over, but will see! hehe But yeah I don't really know about celebrities and selfies, I follow a lot of them but I don't really have a preference for anyone specific.

So there you have it my #selfie post! If you want to check out the other girls in the group you can click on the logo on the top! :)
