Hey Beauties!!!
So you know that it's the middle of the week so that means "Curves Around the World" blog post and I know already posted a blog post today but you get two blogs in one day. But yeah today's theme was DIY and I decided to do my first DIY on the blog and I hope you enjoy it.
So since it's summer, I've been on the lookout for some new sunglasses because my old ones recently broke. So I was thinking of DIY'ing sunglasses like the flowers that I've been seeing a lot of people wearing, but when I thought about it, the flowers didn't really seem like me. So I saw a few tutorials on sunglasses with pearls and pearls seemed more like me, so this is what came of it. Heads up this is my first DIY so bare with me.
The inspiration are these Chanel glasses from there spring 2012 Collection. I think they are still very stylish especially if you put them on a cat eye type pair of sunglasses.
What you need:
+ Sunglasses - I got this pair from forever 21 (here) for only $5.80
+ Pearl appliques - I got these from the craft store for $2.99
+ Glue - I used E6000 from the craft store
+ Tweezers
(There is a stick in the picture because I thought I would use it to apply the glue but I ended up not using it)
1. First step - I put a small amount of glue on some tissue paper and then I took the pearl with the tweezers and dipped it in the glue.
2. Next I put the pearl on the top part of the glasses. I started from the end of the sunglasses and worked my way in.
3. Repeat the first two steps, leaving a small space between the pearls, until you finish with one side. When I started the next side I started from the end again and worked my way in, it felt easier then keep working my way around.
And this is the finished product! It didn't take a long time and was very easy to do. I'm really happy with the way it came out. How do you think I did with my first DIY?
Now here are some pictures of me wearing the sunglasses! I thought since I was recreating a Chanel pair of sunglasses I might as well do a black and white outfit and keep it chic! How would you wear these sunglasses?

DeleteI absolutely LOVE these sunglasses. What a great DIY idea!!! My sunglasses are prescription and almost exclusively about function because I'm very light sensitive at times. This really makes me want to play around with them though. I love anything Chanel, and your outfit pairing is perfection! :-)

DeleteI know you were on the hunt for sunnies, and I love that you essentially made your own. So chic and cute. I might pick up a second pair from Forever21 and try this, too. I love pearls, so pearl-izing my sunglasses seems like the perfect, simple craft project!
