Curves Around the World: All Black

Hello Friends and Hello June!
Can you believe it's already June!?! This year is truly flying by. Well today's "Curves Around the World" post is about wearing all black. Now I don't usually wear all black even though I love black and white because I always like adding some contrast to an outfit so this was actually a bit of a challenge for me.
So I love the look of all black and have plenty of pieces that are black in my closet so picking which ones to put together was a little hard. But I knew I wanted to have different textures to the outfit.
So I settled for a embroidered top that I have shown on my blog a few times. But I really love it because the embroidery and it's also very light to wear during the spring and summer here in California that is usually really hot. I paired the top with a faux leather skirt that has an envelope style to it.
To tie everything together I thought I would throw some gold in there because I love how black and gold look together. I decided to go with the a tiny belt with a little bow on it because I wanted to keep things minimal with the gold and let the all black outfit shine.

What do you think of all black outfits? Is it something you wear often?

  1. I think this look is so fierce and sassy. I struggled with this challenge because I feel like all black can be boring. You, however, played with asymmetrical cuts, textured fabrics, and statement accessories that really make the look stand out. You look great in short, slim skirts, too. I've been wearing a lot of mesh tops like this one, and I think the embellishment is so hip but so pretty. It's a way to stay cool and show some skin without resorting to a plunging neckline or spaghetti straps.

    1. Thanks Liz, this was challenging for me too but I'm glad it translated well. And I agree the mesh tops are great way to stay cool without showing too much. :)

  2. I love wearing all black, but I find myself doing less head-to-toe black than I used to. I think the key is to mix textures and to choose interesting cuts. You did both with the envelope skirt and the sheer embroidered top.

Cute look - I have that same skirt. It looks great on you! :-)
