Hello Lovely Friends!
So I'm back with my 2nd Rocksbox review! I've had this box for quite awhile but I haven't gotten around to reviewing it. If you don't know what Rocksbox is a monthly service that loans you designer jewelry for a monthly rate. Now I did like this box a lot more than the first one.
So the problem with the last box was that most of the necklaces didn't fit me and they were a very tight fit for me and the earrings were not my style.
So the first item I'm going to review is Anuja Tolia black stone cuff. Now I don't really wear cuffs because they are hard to find ones that fit my wrists and when I saw this in the box I knew already it was something that wouldn't fit.
As you can see from the photo above it did not fit my wrist not even went on half way. I'm not going to lie it is a beautiful cuff but it just didn't fit my wrists.
Now the next item is one I really did like, it was the House of Harlow 1960 symbols and signs beads necklace. Now this piece isn't something I would normally wear and the way I wore it wasn't really normal too. As you can see above the necklace doesn't look very special and I'm wearing a plain black dress. So I decided to wear it a different way, as a bracelet and loved it that way.
A close up of me wearing the necklace as a bracelet. I actually wore it a few times in some of my previous blog post. Wearing as a bracelet felt s much more better than wearing it as a necklace and as a bracelet it still was pretty loose on me which is why I didn't end up getting it. But it was a cute alternative to wearing multiple bracelets, if you have a beaded necklace you can defiantly try it as a layered bracelet instead of necklace, it's great alternative to stacked bracelets.
So the last item in my box was a pair of Margaret Elizabeth two stone drop earrings. Now the picture on the website looks different than the actual earrings. The earrings were beautiful and they have a beautiful sparkle to them. But they just didn't feel like me. I wore them out a few times and they were a nice piece to have but they just didn't seem like my style.
Now I've sent this box back, I'm looking forward to my next box. This time I have Favorited a few pieces and I'm hoping to get one of those items.
Do any of you have a RocksBox? How do you like it so far? I'd love to know. Also If you wanted to try it yourself you can use my code "curvymodxoxo" for a free month.

I have that same problem with cuffs. That one is beautiful and is something I would have picked out myself. Even when I was a size 8, I still could not put those on (darn big wrists). Sometimes the cheaper ones will allow me to bend them a bit.
ReplyDeleteI have never used a fashion/jewelry subscription before and it seems intriguing. I think that once a stylist gets to know what you like, you can get some amazing items.

I totally feel you on cuffs, it's always been hard for me to find ones that fit on my wrists. I have some big wrists myself. But yeah subscription jewelry can be great if they get your style but if not you can get a lot of no no's!
DeleteI love the cuff - have you tried pulling cuffs apart? A lot of them are made from softer metals that will bend. I usually have to open them up a bit to get them on and then tighten them back up a bit on my wrist?
ReplyDeleteThe cuff is definitely my favorite piece out of the set, but those earrings are also really pretty. I understand what you mean about not your style though. I could see those being earrings I would wear for a special occasion, but I don't think they would get a lot of wear everyday.
Good luck with your next box!!

Cassie, I tried that but it didn't pull apart, I even asked my mom to try to help put it on but I figure it was too much to get it on. And yes the earrings are beautiful and probably great for special occasions but I don't go out often so I bet it wouldn't wear them at all.
DeleteI'm glad you had better luck with this second box. At least they're moving in the right direction. Hopefully you'll love your third one! I made the mistake of not requesting anything specific for my last box, and it's like they forgot everything I'd suggested earlier or answered in my style survey. Now I'm on my last box, and my subscription ends at the end of the month. All three pieces are winners - I'm wondering which one to keep...
ReplyDeleteI really like how you took the necklace and reworked it as a bracelet. It looks really cool wrapped around the watch. I've seen jewelry shops like Bauble Bar sell similar looks in sets, so I think this is totally on trend but something you put your own spin on. I do like those druzy earrings though. I'd totally wear those! I love the frosty blue/green hue!

Yes, I am happy with this box but my last box was pretty bad. I haven't reviewed it on my blog yet but it was like they went back to the first box I got. But yeah I liked wearing the necklace as a bracelet because it didn't work as a necklace so I reworked it to fit my style.
