Ladies Who Lunch and Babes Who Brunch

Happy July Everyone!!!
For today's post I'm bringing you a collaboration with 2 other bloggers my good friend Liz from With Wonder and Whimsy and Terr from TerrCacilla. I was talking to Liz a few weeks back about wanting to do a collaboration and a few days later Terr posted something on instagram about wanting to do a collaboration, so it was perfect timing for all of us do one together. We teamed up with Avenue to bring you today's post "Ladies who lunch and Babes who Brunch!"
So for me brunch is something laid back and is usually at a friends place or we do brunch at a place that has unlimited mimosas. That's the one thing my friends and I love about brunch the mimosas. Brunch is just a great way for all of us to catch up with each other, we try having these at least once a month.
(found the picture on pinterest I don't own this picture)
So the picture above is how I feel about mimosa's. My friends and I like trying different juices with our mimosa's and our current favorite is using Guava juice. We also love adding frozen fruits to our mimosa's, one of our favorite fruits to use are raspberries and when you freeze them they help keep your mimosa cold! ;)
So when I was thinking of an outfit I wanted something that was easy to wear but still fun. So when I saw this hi-low maxi dress I knew this would be perfect for a brunch outfit. I was attracted to the giraffe print and I do love me some black and white so this dress just seemed like the right fit for me.
To add a little bit of me I added a jean vest which is a staple in my summer wardrobe because I love how it looks with dresses. I wore this vest so much last year and I think it will be in heavy rotation this summer as well.

Since Avenue plus is a plus size store I thought I would try some of their bangles because that is one thing I have a hard time finding and they fit great. I usually have to struggle to put bangles on or put some lotion to try to slip them on but these I had no problem with.

As for shoes I wanted something neutral and brown is just a great color that goes with a lot of things. To be honest I have a really hard time finding sandals because I have a wide feet so it can be hard finding strappy sandals that fit me. So when I saw these I thought they were so cute because I loved the different textures and colors and then I found out they came in wide width so I thought they would be perfect. They can added to any outfit to give a little extra something to it. I was surprised that the straps fit great on my feet the only thing is the strap holding my ankle is a little loose.
Do you do brunch? What's a perfect brunch for you? What do you like to wear for brunch?
Thanks for reading! Please check out the other brunching ladies Liz from With Wonder and Whimsy and Terr from TerrCacilla !

  1. This is such a fun summertime look, Nina! When you selected this dress, I was really curious how you were going to style it. I love that you played with different textures with the sandals, denim vest, and metallic jewelry. It looks like a great fit and length on your frame, too. So awesome to hear that the bangles slid right on your wrists. I have the some problem with bracelets, so it's nice to know that Avenue's jewelry is also "plus size." I always have the issue of ankle straps being too large on shoes, wide width or not. I just take a large needle or kabob skewer and punch a couple of extra holes so I can tighten things down.

Thanks so much for participating! I love partnering with you on collaborations. Your looks always surprise and inspire me!

  2. I don't do a lot of brunches, but I love your brunch look. That dress is really cute, and it looks great on you. I like how you paired it with comfy sandals and a denim vest for a casual touch.
