Curves Around the World: DIY

Hello Hello Hello!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic 2014 so far! I'm happy to be back blogging, I took a mini break from things just to enjoy the holiday's with my family and friends. But I missed blogging and checking out everyone's blogs, it's going to take me awhile to catch up on all the blogs I follow. But I'm really looking forward to this upcoming year of blogging, I'm hoping to start posting more and about different things as well!
So of coarse my first post of the year is "Curves Around the World" post and I'm excited for the upcoming themes that we've come up with. But this weeks theme is "DIY or Do it Yourself" and let me tell you for someone like me who doesn't have much money to buy a lot of things, it's great to DIY things to spruce up your wardrobe.
So for my DIY for this post is my crocheted hat, I learned how to crochet my first year of college and I used to crochet non-stop when I learned. But recently I haven't had the time and the patience to crochet. But I do miss doing it and I might just start doing it again. I first started crocheting scarfs and then I learned to crochet a beret type hat and let me tell you I have quite a few and in so many colors but then I started giving them away as gifts to friends that now I don't have too many to be honest. Maybe that's a sign I should start doing it again.
|What I'm Wearing|
| Sweater : Target | Top : Old Navy | Skirt | Forever 21+ |
| Tights : Old Navy| Boots : Ross |
So if you follow my on Instagram you might have seen this sweatshirt, it's from the Phillip Lim collaboration with Target. The day this collaboration came out it was crazy, I went to target I think at 8:10 and people had multiple bags in hand. I really wanted a bag so I thought maybe I could go to another Target and find some, I ended up going to 5 different targets and not finding any of the bags. But I did have my eye on this sweater so I was happy I was able to find this in an XL and I was happy it actually fit too. But yeah on a side note after a few months my friend surprised me and was able to get me one of the small bags. Which I have to do an outfit with in the future. :)
What do you think of DIY? What are things you like to DIY? I would love to hear some of the things you DIY because I would love to try new things.

    1. Thanks Shayne, crocheting is actually really easy to do, I got a lot of my patterns from youtube and I'm sure you could teach yourself with youtube as well. I'm forgot the video I used for my actually hat but I found this one, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG6yV5jgFVM which is really similar. If you make one, let me know, I would love to see it. :)

  3. Casual chic look Nina! I used to know how to crochet, but I didn't keep up with it. That might be a new hobby adventure...For DIY I'm pretty good with crafts and jewelry, but I haven't made the time for it in quite a while. My DIM Pinterest board is bursting with ideas that I haven't embarked on yet...LOL

  6. This whole look is dah-ling! I love the sweatshirt (speaking of art-inspired fashion, right?). It's so surprising and fun and keeps things silly and light. I love that you crocheted your hat. I knit and crochet, and I definitely prefer crochet. It's quicker, easier to hide you mistakes, and isn't as clunky and the two knitting needles. I also picked up the hobby in college, but it's fallen to the wayside as of late. I made a good many ponchos, capelets, shawls, and bags. It's a productive hobby, at least!

  7. I have no idea how to crochet and, after seeing this hat, I'm thinking I might need to learn. I love the color and the style, it's very relaxed but sacrifices no cuteness--well done :)
