My first beauty post - Review on Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir

Hey Gorgeous people!!!
So today's blog post is a first for me, I'm doing a review for a beauty product. I in no form am a beauty expert but I do love makeup so i'll do my best to tell you what I think of the product. So what am I reviewing? The Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara, I was gifted this product from Influenster but all my opinions are my own. Click continue to read my thoughts on the product!

So I don't wear makeup everyday but I do have products that I will wear almost everyday and one thing that I like wearing is mascara, I used to be obsessed with false lashes but I can't be wearing that everyday so mascara is one thing that helps. My eyelashes ok in length so what I usually look for in mascara is something to give me more volume. So when I received this product I was excited because it's a volumizing mascara.
Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara($26.00 at Sephora) claims to "Experience 1800% more volume and look of false lashes. The lash-Maximizing, curvy brush places the most volume at the hard-to-reach center lash line, and the defining tip styles lashes for major drama." On the website it says that this mascara was inspired my Marc Jacobs memory of his mother shaving fibers from velvet ribbon to make her own faux lashes. I wanted to share the story because when I read that on the website I thought it was the cutest thing ever.
So above is a picture of me before and after I put on the mascara. I'm not sure you can tell so much in the pictures but the mascara really does give volume to my lashes. I love the way it makes my lashes look, the picture is only one coat of mascara but you can really build it up and it doesn't clump up the lashes when you put on more coats, which is another thing I really like.
What I like:
First off, I love the packaging it's so sleek and classic in all black and how it's not circular so it wont roll off your table, which happens to me all the time. Like I said above I like how it gives my lashes a lot of volume and how you can build it up without it clumping up and it also doesn't flake which is another plus. I really like how it is water proof because I wore this mascara in the rain and I was scared it might run but it was perfectly fine after.
What I don't Like:
So one thing I don't like is the brush, it's good for getting my lower lashes but I usually like bigger brushes because I feel like they get all my lashes better, I think it's more of a preference for me. So another thing is I wish the mascara was a little lengthening, I mean they claim that it will give you the look of false lashes which it doesn't really do. Lastly the mascara doesn't seem to last long, even though it doesn't flake, I noticed at the end of the day it seemed like I didn't have any mascara on anymore.
To conclude the post, would I recommend this product yes if you want something volumizing but I feel like their are so many amazing mascara's out there that are so much more better.

What is your favorite mascara right now? How was my first beauty review? :)

Thanks again for reading!

  2. I appreciate this review because I'm a mascara fiend. My favorite is Too Faced Size Queen, but the brush is a bit unwieldy. Still, I like the huge, doll face lashes it gives me. While it's a great mascara for going out and for photo shoots, I like a simple, understated mascara for everyday. The one you've reviewed looks like a good option. I can definitely see the volume it added to your lashes!
