Blog Goals for 2016

Hey Friends!
I hope you are all doing well. So with the New Year here I thought it would be good to set a few goals for the blog this year. I didn’t set any goals last year but I did make a few for myself during my anniversary but I think these would be great to focus on for this year.

  • Organize – This year I want to take the time each month to come with ideas and write them down and plan out the posts for the month. One of my problems last year was that life got in the way and I didn’t have time for a post or I didn’t have any ideas so I just didn’t post. So taking time to sit down each month to plan out post will help me post more this year.
  • Social media – I just got a Facebook page (here) and I need to use it more, sometimes I forget to post on there. Also on my Instagram, I’ve improved so much this year but I hope to do even better this year and to post more frequently on there. I want to double my Instagram followers this year as well as my Facebook likes!

  •  Reach out – Now I’ve been saying this about reaching out to companies and connecting with other bloggers. I’m such a shy person in real life so reaching out to other bloggers and companies really scare me but I know that it is something that would benefit me and the blog. So it’s time for me to step out of the comfort zone and reach out to those companies and other bloggers!
  • Try Colors – I realize that I wear a lot of black and white and I really want to wear more colors. Last year I wanted to wear more colors but the way I did that was wear black and white with a color. My wardrobe has lots of black and white so I need to reach for new colors this year and try prints and colors!
  • Stop comparing – Lastly, I want to try not to compare myself with other bloggers but I found myself doing it a lot this year and it made me feel bad and it actually made me consider quitting blogging. But I blog for myself and I really enjoy it so, I will try hard not to compare myself to others and enjoy the experience.

  • Thank you for reading, I know this post was short but it's kind of for me to look back on next year and see which goals I got through. Do you have any goals for this upcoming year?

    XOXO - Nina

    2. I've been reflecting on my past year of blogging and setting goals for 2016 as well. I just ordered a planner (have you seen the cute styles at May Designs?) to help me plan week-by-week and day-by-day. I just posted a survey to my blog looking for feedback on the sorts of posts readers want to see. Sometimes I feel like my content is all over the place, and I really want to do a better job of focusing my content and creating posts that readers find valuable. So organization is a big one of mine too.

I know how scary reaching out can be, but once it becomes a habit, it's a lot easier. I definitely encourage you to reach out to companies you love to tell them why you love them and how you'd like to promote them in a unique way. I think your style is so approachable and cool, and I'm sure brands will see that too.

And of course I'm excited to see you work more color into your wardrobe! Wishing you all the best on your blog journey in 2016!

      1. I got myself a planner as well, I was so good last year at the beginning but then I lost my planner and you know so much happened as well too. But I'm with you with the organizing because I really like lists, they help me get things done. But yeah it is scary reaching out but I'm so thankful for your encouragement, it really means a lot to me!
