Curves Around the World: High Waisted

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone is having a great week so far!

So it's that time again for another "Curves Around the World" post and I know this week it's a little late. My computer has been acting up, but I'm still posting it on Wednesday my time so technically it's not late. hehe
But yeah this weeks theme is no stranger on my blog and I have worn this theme quite a few times already, it's "High-waisted!" So for me I don't have a long torso so pretty much any skirt can be high waisted for me. I really wanted to do something different and I wanted to do pants but I haven't found any high waisted pants that fit me, does anyone know where I can get some High waisted pants in plus sizes?

Well since I wasn't able to find any high waisted pants, I turned to my good ole skirts. Sorry for posting another skirt look, but I really do love my skirts because they are so easy to wear and very versatile.
I know it's suppose to be fall already here in California, but I am not feeling it yet. The day that I wore this outfit it was in the mid 80's and I was so hot so I decided to wear my hair in a bun and wear some light clothing to keep me cool. So wearing a skirt really was the best bet for this theme because it kept me cool. I think my look is a little tropical because on the skirt it has flamingos and palms trees and I'm wearing shells for my jewelry. (I think it's because I wish I could go on Vacation somewhere) hehe

Last picture is a fun one with my dog, I was trying to take a picture with her but she wasn't in the mood. But I liked the picture so I decided to post it anyways.

Curves Around the World: Printed Tee

Hello Everyone!
It's that time again for another "Curves Around the World" themed post. This weeks theme was suggested by the wonderful Thulie of "Thick Fit and Fabulous" and the theme is "Printed tee" or "Graphic tee." This is actually a big trend right now and you can easily find graphic tee's all over the place. I went to the mall this past weekend and they had so many graphic tee's! What I like about graphic tee's is that their is a design for everyone, your favorite band, your favorite cartoon, or your favorite saying. Whatever your interested in there is something for you.

I decided to go with something I already had in my closet instead of buying something new, I was really tempted too. I don't have very many graphic tee's, my graphic tee's actually mostly consists of Hello kitty because I love hello kitty but I wanted to do something different.

As you can see I went for a "Batman" t-shirt! I got this shirt last year because we threw one of my friends a super hero party and at the time I couldn't find any super hero t-shirt in my size. So in an attempt to find something super hero I went to the men section of JCpenny and found this shirt. I thought it was really cute and the great thing is it fit. I don't really like how t-shirts are, so I ended up cutting up the shirt around the collar and the sleeves to make it fit me better. I actually cut a lot of my t-shirts that I have the same way because I don't like the collar so high on my neck because I feel suffocated. But yeah I was happy with the way the shirt came out. But I haven't worn the shirt since, so I knew this was a perfect time to wear it.
{Top|JCpenny} {Sweater|Old Navy} {Skirt|H&M}
So I decided to pair my graphic tee with a printed skirt to make it a little different. I would normally wear it with jeans or leggings but it's still hot here in California so I thought why not wear it with a skirt and I think it came out well. I also finally got to wear my wedge sneakers that I got from a local store that closed down. It's been too hot to wear actual shoes, I always wear sandals or flats. But since the weather has started to cool down just a bit I was like why not wear them and I was surprised how comfy they are. I can't wait till it cools down more and I can wear them more often!
It was a really sunny day when I took my pictures so sorry if I'm squinting in all my pictures. So what do you think of Graphic tee's? How do you like to style a graphic tee?

Curves Around the World: Vintage

Hey Lovelies! I hope September is treating you well so far!
Well it's that time again for another "Curves Around the World" post and this week's theme was a little tricky. We've actually have moved this theme around since we started and it's also been changed to be more broad. This week's theme is "Vintage," your probably thinking that is such an easy theme. But it's not because I know a lot of us were really stuck on this theme, myself included! I love vintage but I don't honestly dress vintage, plus vintage can mean so many things.
So finally my inspiration came this weekend, I randomly went to the movie store to rent a movie because it was hot to go out so I just wanted to stay in and watch a movie. At the movie store I noticed they had "The Great Gatsby," if you've been following my blog you know that I wrote about wanting to watch this movie and loving art deco pieces. Well when I watched the movie I absolutely fell in love with all the costumes from the movie. So I knew I wanted to do something from the flapper times but I didn't want it to be like a costume.
{Top & Dress | Forever 21+} {Hat | Old Navy}
So I originally had a whole other outfit planned out but when I tried it on, I realized it didn't fit me anymore. But I think the outfit that I came up with came out pretty well. I wanted something that had a dropped waist and since my original dress didn't fit, I decided to create my own outfit with a dropped waist. I wanted to go for an outfit that was more wearable then a costume and I definitely think I would wear this outfit, minus the necklace though. What do you think? Is it too much like a costume?
The top I got during a sale at Forever 21+ and I haven't worn it yet because I could never find the right outfit for it to go with or an occasion to wear it but I decided it went so well with my 1920's inspired look I had to wear it. When I saw this top I feel in love with it because I love the detailing on it. You can't really see it in my outfit pictures that's why I took a closer picture of it so you could see the details, it reminds me of Art Deco and which I wrote about before and could read it (here). But the problem with the top is that its sheer so I decided to pair it with the inside one of my dresses that's from Forever 21 and I think they paired well together. What do you think of my Art Deco shirt?
So to top off the whole look I paired it with an Old Navy hat that I bought last spring but never wore it because with California weather it was too hot to wear. I've always been a fan of these "Cloche" hats because they seem really chic and there were a few times I saw people wearing these types of hats in the movie, so i knew it would be a great finishing piece to the outfit. Oh I can't forget the pearls, I think they tie the whole outfit together. And I'm really happy with the outcome of my "Vintage" inspired look.

How do you think I did with my "Vintage" inspired look?

Curves Around the World: Polka Dots

Hello Lovelies!

Well it's that time again for another "Curves Around the World" post and this weeks theme is Polka dots! I love me some Polka dots, it's one of my favorite prints. I have a lot of different polka dot items in my closet so it was a challenge to pick what to wear, I think it's always a challenge on what to wear with these themes because there is always several outfits I want to choose from. But since there is a heat wave right now in California and I decided to do a Summer look.
So I chose this outfit because I've been wanting a crop top for awhile, I got the bandeau from Forever 21+ but I wanted a crop top that was a little longer. I've seen really pretty tops at a lot of different stores but none of them have ever fit me. But one day I was on the Target website and I saw this great crop top, that came in two great prints and they went up to size XXL. I don't usually buy things online but this top was only sold online and it was on sale so I thought it was a sign so I decided to get both one in XL and the other in XXL because I figured if one didn't fit I could always return the other one. But it turned out that they both fit me because the fabric is stretchy.
So as you can tell the crop top that I'm showing you today is the polka dot one, this was the one that I got in XXL and I think it fits great. I've worn the other top a few times too it's a floral top but I've always covered up by wearing something over so you couldn't tell it's a crop top. But today I decided to bear the skin, especially in this heat. I like these bralette type crop tops because they don't show to much skin but just enough. What do you think of crop tops? Are they something you would wear?
{top & skirt | Target} {shoes | Old Navy} {earrings & bag | Philippines}
Since my top is shorter then something I usually wear, I decided to balance it out with a longer skirt. I haven't actually worn this skirt before because I've always been uncomfortable with wearing such tight clothes and it's really long so I felt like it made me look shorter. But I think with the crop top it kind of makes me look longer and taller. What do you think does it make me look taller or is it just me?
Since I was just going to run and do errands I decided to wear sandals to make the look a lot more casual. This clutch is one of my favorites that I rediscovered, I was cleaning my closet and I saw this baby tucked away in another bag and I said it was too pretty not to use. I love the colors and it has a strap too if I wanted to wear it on my shoulder. I think you will be seeing this bag more on my blog in the future. :)
