Avenue Wide Calf Boots

Hello Friends!
Holiday season is always crazy for me but for some reason this year it went by too quick that I didn't even get time to enjoy the season. So sorry for the lack of season inspired posts, my life has been too crazy this year, I'm ready for 2017! Today's post I'm working with the OC plus Bloggers again and were talking about my favorite kind of shoes, boots! I love boots but finding wide calf boots that fit can be hard, so today we are all sharing about different pairs of wide calf boots from Avenue!

Fall in the OC

Hey Friends!
So the weekend before Thanksgiving I met up with some OC plus size bloggers to eat, hang out and take pictures. It feels so good to meet bloggers and talk about blogging, the ups and the downs and it's good to know that others go through the same thing you so. Since we took pictures we decided to so a group collaboration for fall because we were all dressed up in fall attire!

Thinking of Fall...

Hello Friends!
I can't believe October is almost half way over, the time really goes by fast. October is my Birthday month so I don't want it to end because I don't want to get a year older, I'm not prepared to leave my 20's behind! lol But yeah it's mid October but here in California were having a heat wave and I'm wishing for some fall weather soon, I'm so tired of the heat. So in hoping for cooler weather in today's blog I'm posting a fall outfit that is still cool enough for me to wear in the warmer weather we have in California.

Curves Around the World: Remix 2014

Hello my lovely Friends!!!
I hope everyone is doing well and has all their Christmas shopping done, I know I still have a few things to get. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. But yeah I'm back with a new "Curves Around the World" post and today's post is remix 2014 where were taking one of our past looks and remixing it. I think I was the one that suggested this because I like to do it all the time with clothes in my closet and I thought it would be fun to do it with a "Curves Around the world" outfit.

Curves Around the World: Boots

Hello Hello Hello!
How is everyone doing? I hope everyone is doing great! So it's that time again for another "Curves Around the World" post and this week's theme is "Boots," and let me tell you I love me some boots. Boots are usually my shoe of choice during most of the year, but it's already hot here in California so I had to choose a shorter boot and I didn't want to wear my favorite pair because I think I've worn them quite a few times already on here. So I chose one that hasn't been worn that much on the blog.

Curves Around the World: Favorite Shoes

Hey Everyone!!!
So it's another "Curves Around the World" post and this weeks post is on favorite shoes! So I have to be honest I am not a shoe girl, I know there are many girls out there who love shoes but I rather buy clothes. But it's not that I don't like them but I'm the kind of person that if I have a favorite pair of shoes that are comfortable they are my go to shoes and I will wear it with everything. If you follow my blog you know that I love boots and they are my go to pair of shoes, that's why it's no surprise my favorite pair of shoes at the moment are...

Curves Around the World: Neon

Hello Hello Hello!!!
I hope everyone is having a great week so far. So it's the middle of the week, you know what that means..."Curves Around the World" post. This week's post is something very bright,"Neon!" I am not really a big neon person, but when I looked at my closet to try to find something I realized that I had a few things I could use.
So when I looked in my closet, I saw the shirt above, it might not looks very neon but when you see it in person it really looks like a highlighter, trust me. I actually bought this top thinking it was the color you see in the picture but when I got home and saw it in natural light I realized it was a neon orange color. I wanted to return it but I got it on sale, but I'm glad I didn't because it was perfect for this weeks challenge.
{top:Old Navy} {skirt:Target} {shoes:Ross}
When I saw how bright the top was, I knew I had to wear it with something neutral but I didn't want to wear something plain, so I chose my polka dot skirt. If you've been following my blog awhile you know that I really like black and white, so when I think of the bright orange top I couldn't think of anything better then black and white to go with it. I think if it was spring or summer I might try to color block this top with another color. But since it's technically still winter I like it with black and white.
So I really love boots and these are one of my favorites at the moment. I bought these randomly at Ross, I didn't want to get them at first because I have enough boots but I'm really glad I did because I've been wearing these a lot lately. Oh I'm trying to take different photo's for my blog like this picture of my shoes, so hopefully you like them. What do you think of the close ups of certain parts of my outfit?
Now that's my neon outfit for today's challenge. Now how do you feel about neon? What do you like wearing neon with?

Thanks for reading, now don't forget to check out the other wonderful ladies from "Curves Around the World" and show them some love.

Curves Around the World: Rock chic

Hello Lovelies!!! I hope your all doing well and having a fabulous week so far. Well it's that time again for another "Curves Around the World" post and it's our #13th theme already. It's seems like just yesterday I we started doing these themes, I am so happy doing them and working with the awesome ladies from around the world. It's great seeing how different we all take the themes and each week they continue to inspire me in so many ways.
So this week's theme is "Rock Chic" and I don't think I dress this way but I have to say there are parts of me that love the Rocker look. The staple of a lot of Rock looks I see, is the Leather Jacket. I love leather jackets and for the fall and winter it's my favorite piece to wear with my outfits. I think a leather jacket gives any outfit a little edge. So of coarse when I found out the theme was "Rock Chic" I knew I had to wear one.
So the leather jacket that I'm wearing is new I bought it last week because Forever 21+ has a great deal on these jackets for only $18! I know finding a faux leather jacket my size is really hard and not to mention it can be very expensive. I own one that is several years old and it's starting to tear, so I was on the look out for a new one. So when I found out about the great deal I knew I had to get one before they sold out and unfortunately the black one is sold out online already. But they still have a burgundy one in stock online you can check it out (here), I'm actually debating if I want to get the burgundy one as well because it's such a great deal. You can also check your local forever 21 to see if they still have them in stock because I know at mine there were a lot of them when I went to the store. Oh by the way I think they run a little small because I'm usually a 1X in Forever 21+ but it was really tight on my arms and it didn't close so I got a 2X and it fit perfectly.
{Jacket & Skirt| Forever 21+} {top|Old Navy} {boots|Target} {earrings|Forever 21}
So I wanted to keep my outfit really simple because I picture a rocker girl in simple basic clothes with leather and studs. I really wanted to wear a studded belt but I don't own one but I think that would have really put the outfit together. But I have the leather from the Jacket and the studs from my boots. I think it came out really well even though I went really simple with the outfit. By the way I had the jacket off in the second picture because it was so hot I was sweating so much because it was in the high 90's here in California. But hey you gotta do what you gotta do and I don't think my outfit wouldn't have been complete without the Jacket.
So that's my Rock Chic look! What do you think about Rock Chic? Is it a style you wear? What do you think of when you hear Rock Chic?

Well now that you've seen my Rock look be sure to stop by the other wonderful ladies from "Curves Around the World" and check out how they pulled of the theme!

Taking a Big step...

Hello my dears!!! I Hope everyone had a great week and is excited for the weekend. I know I'm excited for the weekend! :)

So today's blog is for the "Pinay Curvies" link up. I decided to join this month's link up because well I'm Pilipino and I'm curvy so why not. So the theme for this month's link up is "Boots Up!" I have quite a few pairs of boots and I'm currently looking for new pair of short boots. But yeah I decided to wear my favorite pair of short boots because it's summer here in California and wearing boots isn't my first choice of shoes. But I think short boots are great to wear with dresses and skirts even in the summer because they are a great alternative to sandals.
So this posts outfit is a little different because it's something I've never worn before and I wasn't sure if I wanted to post these pictures up or take new ones with a whole other outfit. But I decided why not post it, I already took the pictures. Most of the blog isn't about my boots though but I think it's ok.

So as you can see in the picture, I'm showing my some skin and it's skin that I don't usually show. So it's a big step for me showing some belly, you can tell that I don't show it off because it's so pain compared to my tan. But you know what it's not as bad as I thought. I got this bandeau top from Forever 21+ and I've was eyeing a tribal print one that I wrote about before (here) on my blog. So when I saw it in the store I compulsively just bought it with out thinking am I really going to wear it or what am I going to wear it with. But I'm glad I bought it, it's really comfortable. I wore it to the store and I felt like people were staring at me, at first I was very uncomfortable but then I just thought all the fabulous Plus size bloggers out there who rock outfits like these with so much confidence, so I pulled myself together and told myself "You feel comfortable and you know you look great! Don't care what others think!" And I pretty much didn't think about it anymore, so this is a big step for me and feeling comfortable in my own body and I'm really happy about it.
{jacket & bandeau | Forever 21+} {skirt | I <3 Ronson} {Boots | LoveD}

So putting this on the internet is a big thing for me but you know what I hope to inspire girls out there to embrace their bodies and to love themselves. And by loving your body you accept it the way it is, this is why I love the instagram hashtags #honormycurves and #effyourbeautystandards because they inspire me to do both those things especially in a world that tells you that if you aren't a size model size you aren't beautiful. But I want you to all know that you are beautiful no matter your size, shape, ethnicity, skin color or whatever. :)

I hope you all have wonderful weekends! :)

Curves Around the World - Animal Print

Hey everyone, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I have a have some fun news, I was asked to participate with 4 other bloggers around the world to do a series of themed outfit post every Wednesday. I know a lot of the blogs that I follow have there own weekly themed post as well, so when I was asked to participate, I was very excited. The title of our group is "Curves Around the World" because we are literally from all over the world and I'm so excited to work with these ladies. Be sure to check them out, there links will be at the bottom of this post.
So this weeks theme is Animal Print and I wasn't sure which item in my closet I wanted to use. But I know I had a pair of shorts that are animal print that I haven't worn in awhile so I decided to go more of a casual look since I wasn't going anywhere special, and I was just going to go shopping.
{top & Jacket|F21+} {shorts|H&M} {Jewelry|Philippines} {shoes|LoveD}
You can probably guess that I really like these short boots a lot because I wear them quite a bit. I just think they are so comfortable and they go with a lot of things. Plus when I go shopping I like to wear comfortable shoes.
Shopping was a bust, I don't go shopping often, so I was excited to go. But I hate it when you actually go shopping and you want to find something and you end up finding nothing. I know for me it's hard to go shopping in the first place because there aren't too many stores that actually have plus size clothing and at the mall that I went to it's very limited. So when I go to the mall I go to all those stores first and see if they have anything I like. And since I didn't see anything at those stores, I went to stores that might have my size and I was sad because things I actually liked didn't fit me. I know that's what a lot of girls go through when they shop, especially when your plus size. Do any of your girls have that problem when you shop? I know a lot of people shop online, but I'm the kind of person that likes trying on things and seeing how it looks on me so I get scared buying clothes online. But I still enjoying going into stores and looking at the different clothes, even though I might not fit into them, I like looking at them. :)
Well here's a close up of my animal print because I wasn't sure what kind of animal print it is. I think it's a combination of different animal prints, I think that's why I chose these shorts because I like that it's a combination of animal prints. What kind of animal print do you think these shorts are?

Now check out the other ladies and see there great Animal print outfits.

Spring Adventures

Hey everyone, I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. Since the weather was so nice here in California, my friends and I decided to take a little adventure to LA. It was fun because we didn't have anything planned and we just went with the flow and went where the wind took us. It turned out really well, not everything we wanted to do happened but it was a great day and what made it even better was being with great friends.

So our first stop in LA was lunch at a place called URTH Caffe and it's in a real cool industrial area with lots of bricks. So I asked one of my friends to take my outfit pictures because I figured it would be a great area to take pictures. She inspired me to take some different pictures then I usually take. How do you think they came out? I really like how they came out.

{jeans|F21+} {sweater|Old Navy} {Top|made by my mom} {Bag|BCBG}
{sunglasses|Forever 21} {Boots|swap meet} {watch|target}

Our next stop was the San Antonio winery, for wine tasting, a tour and some wine drinking. It was a lot of fun and the let me tell you the wine was so delicious, if your in the LA area this is a great place to visit. There food looked really yummy but since we ate already we just sat in the cafe and had a bottle of our favorite wine that we tasted, which was the peach Stella Rosa, it was very refreshing.

Does anyone watch Keeping up with Kardashians? Well on the show the Khloe has a stuff animal giraffe, so when I saw this giraffe at the winery I had to take a picture with it. It was so cute, that I could not take a picture with it.

Well the rest of our day in LA was we went to the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) which was near little Tokyo so we stopped by there while we walked to the 2nd MOCA museum. Then we were suppose to watch a movie at the Hollywood cemetery but it was sold out. So we ended up having dinner at Pink's hot dogs, which is another great place to try if your in the LA area.

Well have a wonderful day! ~Nina~

The Renaissance Faire

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is having a great week so far. This past weekend I was able to go to the Renaissance Faire with a few friends. It was a fun experience, I have never been before so it was cool to see everyone dressed up in costumes and speaking in old English. We were able to do some archery with a bow and arrow, It was so much harder then I thought but it was a fun experience. We even watched the Jousting competition, it was very interesting.

This is the outfit that I wore, it was very hot outside so once again I didn't wear a jacket. I knew it would be a hot day and we were going to be outside, so i decided to wear something light that would keep me cool. Thank you to my friend Iris who helped me take pictures of my outfit that day.
{sunglasses|Forever 21} {shirt & shorts|Old Navy} {tank|F21+} {shoes|LoveD} {bag|my moms} {necklace|Philpinnes} {watch|Kohls}

So below are a few pictures from the Faire, I wish I took more but because it was so hot, I was kind of lazy. hehe

They had so many cool random things that were cool, but things were so expensive. They had some pretty flower crowns but they were way over priced. These masks were really cool too and they had so many different kinds and  they have some great details on them as well.
Above is a pictures of some of the performers at the Faire, look how great there costumes and makeup are. I love how they were just chilling on the ground while people surrounded them and took there picture.

This is a picture of my friends and I, as you can see two of my friends dressed up as a pirate and a gypsy. I wish I would have dressed up too because it was fun seeing everyone dressed up and it would of been fun to dress up as well. But I didn't really have something to dress up in.
The last picture is of my friend Iris and I, wearing some really cool hats that they let us try on. I actually really liked the hat, I think it's a pirate hat and it had a really cool feather in it too.

Have any of you ever been to the Renaissance Faire? What would you dress up as if you were to go?

Have a wonderful day! ~Nina~

Bright Days

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Once again it was a very warm weekend. I had a good one, i was able to meet up with a friend that I haven't seen in almost a year. I love when you see a friend that you haven't seen in so long, but it's still the same as its always been. Well here is the outfit I wore when I saw my friend.

The shorts I'm wearing are from H&M and I always get excited when I see a size 14 at H&M because it's very rare. But I knew I had to try them on because 14 doesn't always fit me, so I was happy when they fit me, oh yeah there were on sale too. I got these last year and these were my first pair of shorts that I had ever gotten. You see I never used to wear shorts, I loved wearing dresses and skirts but I was never comfortable in shorts. I only wore shorts when I went swimming and as Pj's. But last year I got the courage to wear shorts because of some of the great plus-size bloggers that I followed. They showed me that as long as your comfortable and confident in what your wearing, there's nothing wrong with it. :)

 {shirt|Old Navy} {shorts| H&M} {sweater| Target} {shoes|LoveD} {necklace| market in Philippines}

So I really love these shorts they have a palm tree print on them and there black and white, which I really love. I was going to pair this with a white top and black sweater to go with the whole black and white trend this spring and summer. But I thought it would be nice to pair it with a bright yellow top, you cant really tell in the pictures but the top is like a neon yellow and I wasn't too sure about the color of the top. But I think it paired pretty well with the shorts and I'm glad I took a chance and got the shirt.

Have a wonderful day! ~Nina~

Festival style

Hello everyone, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! This weekend was like the start of summer here in California, it was in the 80's but it felt like it was in the 90's. It was really hot, I wasn't prepared for it. But yeah I decided to put together a festival style look. I actually wore this out that day, minus the flower crown though. Sorry the pictures are very bright and their are shadows on my face, it was a very bright day.

I decided to wear a white flowy top because it was so hot outside and I wanted to stay away from the darker colors. Plus when I saw pictures of festival wear online there were a lot of white flowy outfits. I paired it with plain jean shorts because I think the more simple the better. I didn't want to get too crazy with the outfit because I was going to wear it for the rest of the day. I also wore a light flowy cardigan, just to cover my arms, I'm not comfortable showing my arms yet but i figured it was OK as long as it was a light and I rolled up the sleeves.

 {Top | Target} {Shorts & Cardigan | Old Navy} {shoes | LoveD} {necklace | gift}
{bracelet | market in the Philippines} {flower crown | DIY}

How do you think I did with the look? Is it believable for festival style?

Something Different

Hey everyone, I hope everyone had a great weekend. So I was really inspired by the girls that do Marvelous Mondays (Goodbye HollywoodFat Fashionable FeministCheri'z Angel and style luvin, and two other girls) I love the concept that they have to dress up on Monday's to make the day less of a hated day. If you haven't checked them out, click the links and check them out! :)  But yeah their theme last week was to wear something that they have trouble styling. I thought this was such a great thing because I have a number of pieces in my closet that I have trouble styling.

One of the most challenging pieces in my closet is this kimono style jacket from H&M. I bought this 2 years ago and I have only worn it once, I bought it for a friends wedding because when I saw it I loved the colors and I was happy something from H&M fit me because it's kinda rare I find things that fit me. But yeah I wore it as a jacket for my friends wedding but i actually didn't even like the way it looked but I had no choice because it was the only jacket I brought to the wedding, so the only reason why I wore it was because I had no choice. So I thought of exactly this jacket in my closet when I saw what the girls theme last Monday.

So this is how I styled the jacket, really simple with some forever 21+ jeans and a black tank from old navy. I wore it with my boots that I got from the swap meet and a mixture of jewelry that I've gotten from different places. I'm not sure if I really like the way it came out but I think its ok.

Here's a closer look of my jewelry, the watch is from Target and the bracelets are from different stores I'm not too sure about. I was having a bad hair day and my go to accessory for my hair is a headband, if you saw my old blog I was obsessed with headbands, and a lot of the headbands I own I have made including this one.

The last picture is my doggy Mocha and me, I think she was getting jealous and wanted to be in the pictures so i decided to let her be in one! :)

Have a wonderful day ~ Nina ~
