Spring back to basics!

Hello Hello!
I hope your all doing great, I've been so uninspired recently fashion wise, I think I was in a little fashion funk. But whenever I get this way I go back to the basics and what I know and to me that's black and white. I think I've been so fixated about wearing more color that I forgot about my favorite color combination black and white. So today's outfit is my back to basics spring outfit.

A Holiday look with SimplyBe

Hello Wonderful Friends, Happy New Year!
I hope everyone is starting the year off great so far. So today's post has to do with the virtual holiday party that I did a few weeks back, if you don't remember I teamed up with two great bloggers Liz and Hailey and we each through a virtual holiday party with decorations and recipes. At the time I had not received my item from SimplyBe and I got the item right before Christmas on Christmas eve which was great. But I hadn't gotten to post about it because I had to get it altered but more about that later. :)

City Chic in a Jumpsuit

Hey Lovelies!
So I'll be back with "Curves Around the world" at the end of the month. We just created a new list and I can't wait for the new challenges. So for the meantime I decided to show a jumpsuit I got from City Chic. Awhile ago I wrote about how I went to the Grand Opening of a City Chic near me, you can view the post here, and in the post I said I would post what I bought and here it is.

Curves Around the World: Timeless

Hello Lovelies!!!

Well it's that time again for another theme from "Curves Around the World!" This weeks theme is..."Timeless," so this theme kind of left me a little stumped because I had certain styles in my mind but I didn't know how to translate it into my style. When I think of timeless I think of Carolina Herrera and Audrey Hepburn but this theme made me realize my lack of the basics in my closet. But I didn't want to go out and buy something, so my challenge was to create a look from the clothes that I already had.

So I searched "Timeless Fashion" on pinterest and I saw a list that is similar to the one above which had about 9 different things but I decided to redo it with the ones that I really liked and used it as my guide for this challenge. These are my favorite points from the original list and I feel these are great points to Timeless fashion. The two that I really used when choosing my outfit was "Keep choices simple" and "Be yourself."
So when I thought to myself about "Timeless," the first thing I thought was Black and white! Black and white is something that never goes out of fashion and is timeless. So when I looked to through my wardrobe I thought why not wear something that is more casual then dressy. So I chose black legging and a black and white stripped tank with a black sweater. Something really simple and something that is really me at the same time, the two things I wanted to focus on from the list.
{top & Sweater:Old Navy} {Leggings:Forever 21+} {Shoes:Forever 21}
Although I wanted a more casual outfit I did accessorize the outfit a bit to make it a little bit more dressed up. I paired my casual outfit with heels and pearls, that I feel are both timeless items. I borrowed my mom's peal earrings and used my faux peal necklace as a bracelet.
Now that's my take on "timeless" for this weeks theme. How do you think I did with this timeless theme? What do you think about when you think timeless?

Curves Around the World: Signature Color

Hello lovelies! How is everyone doing? I hope your having a spectacular week so far! For me I'm trying to get used to daylight savings because now when I come home it's dark and I'm not used to it. I have to start taking my pictures on the weekends because it is too dark to take them when I come home.
But yes it's the middle of the week and you know what that means! "Curves Around the World" And this weeks theme is "Signature Color," and this was a little hard for me because for me a Signature Color is a color that you wear often and is your favorite color to wear. Well for me my favorite colors to wear and that I wear very often are the colors black and white. I know your probably thinking how boring but it's true I have a lot of colors in my closet but I feel the most comfortable in and that I wear the most is black and white. I just think it's really chic and when I have nothing to wear I look at my black and white clothing and will usually find something to wear.
{Top and Skirt| Forever 21+} {Boots | Target}
So here it is I bring you a monochromatic look, this black skater skirt from forever 21+ is one of my favorites. I wore it so much during the summer and I was surprised that I never showed it on the blog. The fabric is pretty heavy so it will be a great skirt to wear for fall and winter with added tights. I love this white top because it fits really well, I usually have a hard time finding tops that fit me properly because I have wide shoulders and a lot of times shirts are really tight around my arms. But yeah I really do love black and white, you can catch me wearing either or on a daily basis. Plus black and white are a big part of my wardrobe which is probably why I wear it a lot.
So I know I've mentioned this in a few posts already but I love boots and these are one of my favorites, I've had these boots for a awhile and I'm really sad they are starting to tear. I don't know about you but I have really big calves because I was a swimmer when I was younger and because of that I have really big calves. So finding boots that fit over my calves is a huge problem, I recently went to Ross and tried on some over the Knee boots and it wouldn't zip around my calves, which is my biggest problem finding boots. But when I find a pair that fit over my calves I get so excited this is one of my 2 pairs that I have that go over my calves. But I'm not going to lie they are really tight, there suppose to be slouchy boots, but who cares I can wear them however I want to. So for me I can only wear them with bare legs, tights or leggings. I'm still on the hunt to find boots I can actually wear with jeans so I'm on the lookout for some wide calf boot, I know forever 21+ has some up on the website but I really want to try them on so I'm waiting for them to go in stores. The reason why I want to try them on is because last year I tried on one of there wide width boots and they didn't fit on my calves, so I want to try them one and see if they fit properly. :)

Well that's my signature color. What are your signature colors?

Pinay Curvies...Pinay Style Idol

Hello Lovelies!!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far.

Well I was asked to join the Pinay Curvies blog link up again this month and I was happy to do it. The theme for this months link up is pinoy style icon and let me tell you, I have a lot of them. So this theme was really hard for me to choose because I adore so many pinay's and there styles from Celebrities to bloggers to Stylists. But I decided to choose the one that I admire the most at the moment. And it's...
Ms. Anne Curtis
{Photo credits to Anne's Instagram}
"I like black dresses. I like black jumpsuits. I love white, white shirts kasi ang linis!" - Anne Curtis (credit here)

Anne Curtis is a Pinay-Australian actress, tv-host, model and singer. I chose her as my pinay style idol because at the moment she is the one person that I really admire for her style, plus she has an amazing personality that you can see as she host the daily variety show "It's Showtime". I like watching the show "It's Showtime," where she is a host just to see what she's wearing that day. I like how her style can be very casual and then she can be super glamorous at the same time. I love how she sings even though she isn't the greatest singer but she sings anyways and that just shows how confident she is. She's even had her own concerts which were her dream and she worked hard for it to become reality and I think that is just amazing. She can act crazy and silly not care what others think about her, I wish I could be like that. I hope one day to have the same confidence as her because I can't even sing Karaoke in front of people because I feel too self-conscious but I'm learning to be more confident in myself and I think her confidence inspires me to be the same as well. That's why she's not only someone that inspires me through her fashion but she also inspires me as a person!

I chose this outfit because I do have similar pieces but I also really like how it's cute, casual and yet trendy all in the same time. Of coarse my outfit isn't exactly the same. I decided to do black and white because of the quote above Anne like's black and white and I like wearing black and white.
{shorts|Fashion Q} {top & shoes|Old Navy}
So here is the outfit I came up with and I think it's pretty similar. You can't really see the details of the top but it has a similar detail as the one she's wearing, the only thing is it doesn't have a collar. I only have two pair of wedges and since she's wearing wedges in the pictures. I'm also wearing similar lace shorts, I got these shorts a little white ago. I really wanted these shorts from forever 21+ but they were sold out, but I found them at a store that I go to that has plus sizes. I was really excited when I saw them, the original ones I wanted were a nude brown color but they only had black and white at the store, so I got the black one because who doesn't like black!

Who's style do you Idolize?

Curves Around the World: Monochrome

Hello my Dears! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. I know it's only the beginning so if your not having a good week so far I hope the rest of your week goes by great! :) Well it's that time again for another "Curves Around the World" post and this weeks theme is one of my favorites...Monochrome or Black and White
This weeks trend was originally Black and White but we decided to make it Monochrome since they are practically the same thing. I absolutely love this trend, it's one of my favorites just because I think it's so classic and it's always on trend.
Since the theme is monochrome I thought it would be a great time to experiment and mix patterns. I was originally wearing the polka dot top and a striped skirt but when I saw this polka dot skirt I thought it would be fun to mix two different polka dot prints. When I tried the top with the skirt, I thought it was a great combination.
{Top|H&M} {Skirt & Cardigan|Target} {shoes|My moms} {bag|Aldo}

For the accessories I used black and gold accessories to keep it simple and I love black and gold accessories and I think they keep the monochrome theme going. I didn't have any plain black flats so I looked into my favorite place to look for things, my moms closet and when I saw these I knew they would go great with the outfit. I don't know about you but I really love looking in my mom's closet there's always great finds in there. Too bad we don't wear the same size in clothes because my mom has cute clothes too. But at least I can always use her accessories.
What do you think about the trend Monochrome?

Now that you've seen my look don't forget to check out the other lovely ladies from "Curves Around the World" and there great Monochrome outfits.
