What I wore: Christmas

Hello Everyone! So I know this post is a bit late but I think the Holidays is a great reason to be a little late with posts. Plus our group "Curves Around the World" decided that we should skip this weeks post just because of the holiday. So I thought it's OK if i post this a bit late. But yeah I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and spending lots of time with loved ones. But yeah I can't believe 2013 is almost over, I'm kind of glad though, I'm looking forward to a better 2014! :)

So my family used to celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve and open presents at midnight but since we have little kids in the family we now celebrate Christmas on Christmas. But I go with my parents to midnight mass. So you know what that means? I have two Christmas outfits to show you! :)
{Skirt & Jacket - Forever 21+} {top - Old Navy} {shoes - Ross}
So my first outfit is from Christmas eve and it's what I wore to midnight mass with my parents. So my mom wanted us to all wear red and I don't have a lot of red clothes, so when I was looking through my clothes I forgot about this faux leather skirt I got from Forever 21+. This skirt is very comfortable but let me tell you something, it did not go well with the church benches, every time I stood up and sat down they made squeaky noises. So half way through the mass I took my jacket off and used it to sit on so my skirt wouldn't make noises anymore. Now that I look back at it it's pretty funny, but I learned my lesson I can not wear leather to church. hehe :)
{Skirt - DIY} {top(dress) - Forever 21+} {shoes - Forever 21}
So this is my outfit for my family Christmas, sorry the picture was taken at the end of the say so my hair is has already fallen and I'm a bit shiny! hehe But yeah my inspiration for this outfit is a tutu, I've seen so many awesome bloggers that have worn beautiful tutu's and I've always dreamed of having one of my own. So I thought Christmas would be a great occasion to wear one. So for as long as I remember my mom has always made me something to wear for Christmas, so when she asked what I wanted her to make I told her I wanted a tutu. She actually didn't want to make it because she said "Tutu's are only for skinny girls, you will look fatter in one!" Well I didn't care and I wanted a tutu, so she made one not as fluffy as usual tutu's are and let me say I loved it. She didn't think it looked very nice on me and tried to tell me to change into something else but I've learned not to care too much of what people think, as long as I liked it and I felt good in it I'm going to wear it. Not to say I didn't hear a lot of my family tell me otherwise, but that's another story.
So when I got my skirt I actually didn't think of what I was going to wear with it, I actually wanted to wear a plaid shirt with a statement necklace. But shopping the day before Christmas was a little out of the question for me. So I tried on all my shirts and I couldn't find anything to go with the skirt. So I tried to think outside of the box and I saw this dress, and thought why not give it a try and I am so happy how it came out. So besides what other people said to me about my outfit, I was really happy with it and I love how it came out. So a little word of advice, no matter what anyone says, if you are happy and comfortable in something wear it, don't listen to any negative things people might say to you because you know what? You are beautiful! :)
oh one more thing...
Happy New Year Everyone!!!
Have a wonderful one and see you in 2014!

The Best of Curves Around the World 2013

Hello my dears! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I know I enjoyed being with my family! It's my favorite time of the year! :)

But yeah it is that time again for another "Curves Around the World" post, sorry it's a little late because Christmas took up so much time I haven't had time till right now to write the post. But yeah this weeks theme is a little different, instead of posting a new outfit post were looking back at our different posts and sharing our favorites. Now this was a hard one because I have so many favorite themes that we've done. But my favorite has to be when we did "Pink!"
This was my favorite not because of the outfits but because of the background of the theme. We decided to do Pink in October for Breast Cancer Awareness month. I think it's such a wonderful thing for all of us women to come together and show our support for a certain cause, "Girl Power!"

But yeah I want to thank all the girls that have come and gone and the girls who are still in the group for inspiring me so much this year. I've been pushed out of my comfort zone and even gained a bigger understanding of my style while being part of this group. I'm so happy to be part of this group and I hope that our group continues to make me grow personally and fashionably. I'm so honored to be part of such a wonderful group of ladies.

So since this post is about my favorite post, it's going to be a little short. But I will have another post up this weekend with my Christmas outfits! :)

Curves Around the World: Clutch Bag

Hey Everyone! How is everyone doing this week? You know it was 80 degrees this week in California? Were having summer weather in winter, not cool because I've been loving the cooler weather. Fortunately it got cooler today, so that's a good sign. Are you ready for Christmas, there's only 6 more days!
Well it's the middle of the week, you know what that means another "Curves Around the World" post and this weeks theme is "Clutch bag!" So I'm actually not a big clutch bag person, I don't own many and most of the ones I do own have a chain strap, that I will usually use instead of using it as a clutch. I'm just more comfortable with bags with straps, especially ones that you can just wear over the shoulder. But for this post I will actually use the clutch the way it's suppose to be.
This clutch is really old, I think I got this my first year of college from forever 21. I wont say how long ago that was but it was a pretty long time ago. But I really like this clutch and I think that even after so many years it's still in style. I love the colors on the bag it's very fall and I love the paisley pattern on it as well.
{clutch & heels - Forever 21} {Jeans - Forever 21+} {top - Wet seal +}
So this isn't the original outfit I was going to wear, but I didn't really have much time to change so I figure that the outfit I wore today would be fine. It's because the sun goes down so early this time of year so when I get home I rush to try to take my pictures before it's dark outside. The tank underneath is a burnt orange which I felt like complemented the colors of the clutch but it didn't photograph well. But yeah on the back of my shirt there's a skull, if you remember when I wrote about the opening of wet seal+ (here) this was the top that I bought from there. I didn't get a clear picture of it to post, sorry.
Since I was wearing jeans I decided to dress it up with heels, because when I think of clutches I think of a more dressier outfit. I love how heels can dress up an outfit, like you saw in my last post how I wore heels with sweatpants, heels can take a casual everyday outfit to one for a night out.

What do you think of clutches? How do you wear clutches?

Curves Around the World: Sweatpants

Hello Lovelies!!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Christmas is seriously around the corner and I've been running around getting things ready. But I absolutely love Christmas season, it just makes me so happy!
But yeah it's that time again another "Curves Around the World" post time! This weeks theme was suggested by the lovely Thulie, sweatpants! Your probably thinking sweatpants really!?! And you know what it was my reaction at first too but then I thought of it as a great way to step out my comfort zone because I don't wear sweatpants as an outfit. Plus it's just the perfect time for sweatpants because it's been cold her in California! So hopefully I did this challenge justice! :)
So here's the look that I came up with, I knew I wanted to dress up the sweatpants. The first thing I knew I wanted to add to the outfit was black heels because black heels can dress up any outfit. I actually had my pants rolled down at first but then it looked bulky around the heels so I pulled them up a bit and I really liked how it came out. What do you think of my heels with sweatpants?
{pants & tank - Old Navy} {Jacket - Ross} {Shoes & hat - Forever 21}
I wanted to keep the top simple to pair with my sweatpants, so to add a little bit of flare I decided to wear my red faux leather bomber jacket. I haven't had an opportunity to wear this jacket this season, so I knew this would be a great time to pull it out and wear it. This jacket was a great find at Ross, it's really rare to find cute jackets in plus sizes at my Ross. So when I found this I knew I had to get it, plus it was only $20 and that's a great deal for a jacket. To top the outfit off I wore a sparkly beret to give it a little sparkle to the outfit! :)

What do you think of my sweatpants outfit? Do you wear sweatpants out?

Curves Around the World: One Dress Three Ways

Hello my Dears!!!
I hope everyone is having an amazing week so far! It's hard to believe it's already December and Christmas and the New Year are around the corner!
Well it's the middle of the week, you know what that means? "Curves Around the World" post and this weeks challenge is one of my favorites 1 dress 3 ways! I really like this challenge because if your like me and on a budget being able to wear one piece several different ways can expand your wardrobe. Plus I find it fun styling one piece in different ways and I know this challenge is for 3 different ways but I think I could style it a lot more other ways too.
1st Outfit
{dress-H&M}  {top-Old Navy}  {boots-Ross}
This first outfit is something I would wear to go out with friends. If it was colder I would wear this with tights or leggings with the outfit. And I know I wore these boots and this top in my last post and a few other times but I'm really liking these two pieces a lot right now.
2nd Outfit
{Jacket - Forever 21+} {boots - Target}
This next outfit is a more dressed up look with the faux leather jacket and the ankle booties and I added a statement necklace. I think this my favorite way to wear this dress, I used to wear this dress a lot when I used to go out.
3rd Outfit
{jacket-Forever 21+}  {jeans-Target}  {shoes-H&M}
The last outfit of my 3 looks is converting the dress into a shirt by tucking it into my jeans. This outfit is a very casual look that I would wear to go get coffee with my friends or something very low key.

So those are my 3 looks and I think the key to being able to wear things in different ways are basics because with basics you can always dress it up or down. So do you think of my 3 looks? Which one is your favorite?
